6-month mark
Hey guys, it's been a hot minute.
I have been quiet here and have definitely slowed down, though I am still working. Thought I'd get some thoughts out about the experience so far.
Number one: SEO is so baffling. I've religiously posted many low-hanging fruit keywords and not a single one of my pages is even close to ranking. Currently the only one that's even close is the 98th result. This is partially why I slowed down a lot in my cadence. I've seen a bunch of posts of people ranking, some within days of making their posts, but I have 0 organic traffic, which is pretty disheartening to see after putting in so many hours of work.
I also have diversified a bit and am also trying to build some authority on Quora and get some backlinks through HARO. Not much success there yet but I'm enjoying doing it, at least.
I've also gotten a lot of comments to my posts even if I haven't done that lately.
So mostly it's just me grinding away some more and hoping things will click at some point. I'm back on a job so I'm spending a lot less time on this now.
On the bright side, the site has helped me too. In a way it's kind of being therapy for itself. And it's at least helped a few people out, so I'm glad for that.
Think that's about it for now. Not sure how long things will take me now with my motivation not being what it used to + having less time, but I do want to see this through.

Hey Christina I think many of us may feel a sense of discouragement when posts are not attaining a high rank despite all the SEO effort made. The thing is that is repeated so many times is that it takes time to build authority particularly in a competitive niche - 6 month to a year and more in other instances. Keep developing your quality content and post regularly. More success will come your way.

I can see your frustration of not getting what you want with your site ranking friend. But keep in mind that there are many ways to get seen. There are inorganic sources like doing paid ads, social media exposure, influencers, etc. When you establish some serious traffic on your site, Google might see your algorithm and this will probably up your rank as far as the search results go.
If you keep writing valuable posts/contents on your site this will get you ranked faster on Google. All the best!
