3 Advantages Of Creating A Business Online
There’s a lot that goes into starting a business. But creating a business online has some serious advantages over the brick and mortar start ups we are so familiar with.
I can think of three right away.
The first thing that comes to mind is investment. I used to run a satellite installation company a few years ago and the cost to keep things running was a constant concern.
Rent, insurance and equipment maintenance, among other expenses ran into the thousands.
Now that I’ve started a business online, the equipment, I already have. I also have the necessary services, too (ie. electric and internet). And no need for an added expense for rent, I already pay it to live here.
The time I spent working away from the home took a toll on family life, too. 16 hour days, six days a week, traveling every other week out of town simply sucked. That was the biggest reason I got out of the business. I was missing my son growing up, so things had to change.
Now that my business is online, I have 24 hr access and can work on it at home. I won’t have to miss any more bedtime stories.
Finally, the risk I took when starting a satellite business was so much greater than that of an online business. The expenses alone caused a great deal of risk. If I didn’t have consistent work, I couldn’t afford what was necessary to run the business.
The expenses with my online endeavors? Less than $50 a month. Never mind the education that I’m getting.
To me, creating a business online is the only way to go. And if I only put half the time and effort into marketing as I did in the satellite business, I don’t see a limit to the potential.
