Whoa, just got back - my computer completely DIED!

About three weeks ago, I'm on WA doing my thing and all of a sudden my computer screen freezes.

No problem, I think. Just do a quick ctrl alt delete.... nothing.

Next step is a hard boot - shut off the computer. Hit the power button and nothing.

Long story short, the thing was fried. Luckily it was still under warranty, and now it's been in the shop for over two weeks. And there's still no estimated date it will be ready, I can't get an update because Best Buy had to send it to the company to fix it and they are unreachable! I am so frustrated.

I ended up buying another, cheapo computer - and it took a week to arrive and I just spent 2 days re-installing most of my software and updates and uninstalling the bloatware.

I'm going to keep this short and just say I'm relieved to be back online and getting stuff done. It's been a frustrating 2.5 weeks and I feel I've lost a lot of momentum. Not to mention all my passwords, calendar entries, journal-ling and other research files I had on my hard drive that I hadn't backed up yet.

But it's good to be back and I can't wait to get into it again. It probably is a good thing to have a second computer as a backup in case something like this happens, because we can tend to take our tech for granted - UNTIL something goes wrong. And then, all the begging, pleading and crying will not make things fix up any faster than the tech world will allow...:(

Whew, I feel so much better now - thanks for letting me vent.
