"Good luck"
Really quick...
I just stopped myself. I was about to tell someone new on here "good luck". Good luck? Is this what Affiliate marketing is about? Luck?
I don't think so. Luck has an element of hope in it that I don't like. "Good luck" has a finality to it - like "you're on your own now". And hope - hope is not part of the equation to success! When have you ever relied on hope that your paycheck at your 9-5 job would magically double and it happened? Probably never.
****There are exceptions to every rule, but it is not likely that you will become one of them by merely hoping.
It's about the mindset of the individual, their goals, and their willingness to keep working at something.
Mr. Luck doesn't magically appear and sprinkle success and financial freedom on people - it's not an accident!
I encourage you to find something else other than 'good luck' to say to others. Something that encourages action such as "Go get it." "Work hard and the results will come." "Give it time and you will see success.", "Make a commitment to yourself - you will reach your goals and you will do anything for it.", etc...

*grins* This is one of the over-thinking-the-phrase situations. Of course luck in and of itself doesn't *just* happen, the situation and circumstances have to be just so. Wishing someone that their particular circumstance is good isn't wrong or bad at all.
At WA success happens because we are open to the learning and support each other. Perhaps it was 'luck' that lead us here in the first place, or back (in the case of returnees). Maybe it was one of life's little Miracles sent with a purpose. Luck has many names. When a tornado flattens your town but you are alive after it, that was luck-or a twist of fate. It's all in the mindset. I like Norman Vincent Peele's take on it: Pray for a Miracle, Expect Miracles to Happen. And they do :)
This was not something I spent more than a few minutes thinking about. It just occurred to me that it's a phrase that's commonly thrown around and in my mind has little meaning. Personally, I've always just put in the work and expected something good to come of it. My point is the hope and luck part just aren't part of the big equation to success.
I almost always run with a word (or more), stretching and bending them till they run out of possible (earthly) shapes and volume. Just my way. And if someone winds up going "Oh? You don't say!" at the end of it, I'm happy :)

In the beginning, I was wishing everyone 'good luck'. That didn't seem right to me either because, I agree, it had a negative spin to it. So, I started saying 'best of luck'. I thought that sounded better. But, after saying that awhile, it still had the ring of chance to it. Like someone was going to the casino. I have settled on 'Best Wishes'.....only because it is shorter than 'roll up your sleeves and work hard and you can make good things happen for you and your family'. :)
Brevity for the win!
Pun intended. :)
