Staying Focused
When staring any new project, whether it's at your job or on your own time, consistency is key. And honestly, it's something I've struggled with in the past, as a lot of us do.
There are so many distractions in our world. Information and entertainment is more accessible than ever, and it's easy to get overwhelmed. We're always checking our phones, interacting on social media, surfing the web, binging on Netflix...it never ends.
I've been guilty of doing all those things, even at the beginning of my WA experience. I bought my premium membership and thought everything would fall into place. But without setting goals and a plan, I wasn't setting myself up for success.
After the first couple of months, all I had to show was my website and one blog post. I had barely worked through the training and I wasn't using the platform nearly enough. I always had an excuse, whether I was too busy at work, social obligations, you name it.
Something needed to change.
So I decided to focus and create more organization in my life. Writing down daily goals that were both productive AND achievable. Working on something every day, even if it was small. The affirmation and feeling from completing something really started to boost my confidence.
My site and content has been growing, but I'm still not even close to where I want to be. But as I continue to set myself little goals and interact with the WA community, good things will keep happening.
I just wanted to write this in hopes of inspiring a few people who may be struggling like I was. Don't give up and don't get down on yourself. Just put down the phone and start working. Stay focused and good things will happen, I promise.

That's one thing I have to remember - to take each day as it comes, to take it step-by-step, not try to do it all at once. I tried to do it all at once a few years back and as it wasn't coming together as fast as I wanted I gave up. Now I'm back to do this bit-by-bit and if I don't quite achieve it today, I will achieve it tomorrow!
That's such a good mindset Megan, and I've been trying to think the same way. It's frustrating how slowly things move sometimes, but I keep telling myself to stay the course and good things will happen!

Thank you for the personal story and advice.
I noticed pretty quick that I had better get moving on content and not just getting through lessons.
I have really been enjoying the learning process here and meeting a lot of great people.
A family member, who saw a recent post, said "I didn't know you could write." That was funny.
Now I just need to brush up on my grammar.

Hey Rick, completely agree with what you said about focusing on content. I want to make that the best it can be and the start implementing and following some of the lessons. Great to meet you and good luck in your journey!
