Avoid Distractions At Work Today – That Was My Promise
Avoid Distractions At Work, that was my promise to myself for the day. I told myself no emails, no phone calls, no text messages and I went to work. Today had been a productive one so far. Then I needed something stored in my Outlook contacts. I must have left Outlook open because I began to see the little bubble popups out of the corner of my eye. But did I turn it off? Nuooooo!!!
I was getting close to the end of my day and then it happened. A message caught my eye. It was a WA email concerning a blog post of someone I am following Despite my resolve to avoid distractions at work today, I clicked the bubble to read the message. What could it hurt? Right?
The blog post had a link to a You Tube video that he made so I clicked that link as well. The initial image was hilarious and the title “Two Dogs Tried to Attack Me Funny” promised a big laugh.
So, I thought what could it hurt just one video for a break. Well the video left me wanting a little. But over to the right were the related videos teasing me with the laughs I had desired.
Who could resist right? Next thing I know, I’ve watched at least 5 video compilations about funny animals and the day was gone.
Another WA Affiliate Freew2BMe had written a blog post the other day titled Beware of Distractions.
I commented on that post. But little did I know at the time that it was actually a warning. Well so much for my attempt to avoid distractions at work today.

I finally got to read this post, and you can't help but look at the "come at me bro" dog with the green hair! Oh well, a good laugh is good for you at time! Now, let's get back to work.
Hope you didn't mind me referring to your blog post and giving you a back link. Thanks for the comment.
Hi Tina. I think I wrote this post because I was venting at myself a bit. I like your idea about a timer. I seem to remember that I actually purchase a training one time that recommended doing just that.
Love the graphics! Distractions can be a pain. I'm starting to use a timer to get things done! Tina
