The three criteria to look for when joining any online affiliate program

When joining an affiliate programme, or indeed any program that gives you the oppotunity to make money online, there are three main criteria I always look for:

• Is it legit?
• Will it teach you?
• Is the help and support there when you need it?

1. (And probably the most important) - Is it legitimate?

There are sooo many fake sites and scams out there with people readily willing to rip you off and waste your time. I'll admit over the years I've had shiny object syndrome and been pulled towards something that looks great and promises the earth but then delivers absolutely nothing, leaving you with empty pockets and knocking your confidence, and your faith, in people. There seem to be an abundance of these online and for newbies it can often be difficult to separate the legitimate opportunities from the scams.

2. Will it teach you everything you need to know to be successful at it?

Many people looking for a make money online opportunity are novices, or have little experience in creating income online. For those serious in creating online success, they want, and need, to learn - not just about the program they have joined, how it works, how to market it and everything about it enough to persuade someone else to join it too, but also about how to create an online presence, how to interact with people and how to gain trust and respect enough for others to sit up and listen. Any good program should offer you the tools and resources you need to do that.

3. Is the support and help there when you get stuck?

It's all very well being part of a great program and having the information you need, but if the support isn't there to help you out when you get stuck then what's the point? This is where many people lose faith and give up, and often all it takes is someone to convince them they are on the right track and boost their confidence to keep them focused and heading in the right direction. So many times I've been promised help and it's not materialised and I've given up and gone in search of something else, only for the same thing to happen again.
