Hello class. Today I wish to regale you with a benefit for your well being something quite different.

I wish to share with you this very beneficial spice this natural product. Ifyou are working hard here at WA and feel stressed you may need that little kick to help you think. After trying this beautiful spice in a drink you will enjoy the benefits of becomming stress free of reducing pressure in your heart boosting your immune system decreasing inflammation in your gut (stomach issues) also menstrual problems high blood pressure and high sugar levels. In fact you will feel a whole lot better. Not treating these issues can cause you to need to take a rest from what you are doing because of pain or just that nagging feeling.

Actually you don’t rest.

You go away and have a coffee and ponder the problem. Then all the symptoms mentioned above start to kick in even more so you get to feel worse and the more you rest the more you contemplate the issues the worse the symptoms get the worse you feel the more time you stop to ponder etc etc etc.

The real way is to relax properly and do something else different. That seems fine but how about all these symptoms surely they will return as soon as I have another issue I hear you say.

Quite right they will.

So is there an answer?

I won’t make you false promises but trying my little pleasure that may help you. It’s simple easy to get quite natural and has other amazing benefits for your body too. Here is a list of potential benefits you may experience.

Improvement in your brain function and concentration possible defence against Alzheimer’s possible fight against cancer it fights infection and virus’ helps with oral hygiene (bad breath etc) helps prevent Candida helps in skin health helps reduce common allergy symptoms can sweeten recipes without sugar and can even help preserve food.

So what is this “wonder drug” this “miracle”.

It is named Cinnamon. Yes the same thing you find maybe in or on apple pie in rolls on bagels.

So what is it?

Cinnamon is actually made from a type of tree, and the unique smell, colour and flavourb of cinnamon is a result of the oily part of the tree that it grows from.Meanwhile the health benefits of cinnamon come from the bark of the Cinnamomum verum (or Cinnamomum zeylanicum) tree. This bark contains several special compounds which are responsible for its many health-promoting properties including cinnamaldehyd cinnamic acid and cinnamate. Wow!! Big words don’t worry about them just what scientists like to call them no idea why.

Different types?

The cinnamon tree is grown around the world and approximately 250 species of cinnamon have been identified so far. However there are two main types of cinnamon spice used today

Ceylon cinnamon this is sometimes labeled as true or real cinnamon

Cassia cinnamon this is more widely available and commonly used.

They each have a notable spicy taste and fragrance with both types containing plenty of health benefit with Ceylon cinnamon powder actually considered to be more potent.

Health benefits.

Researchers have concluded that cinnamon health benefits can be obtained in the form of its pure bark essential oil in ground spice form (which is bark powder) or in extract form. These compounds make cinnamon one of the most beneficial spices on the planet having antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-microbial, immunity-boosting and potential cancer and heart disease-protecting abilities.

So where can I get it?

Ok you can buy cinnamon quite easily from a drug store supermarket or off the internet.

I buy Ceylon cinnamon only because it is the best and the know side affects if any are minimal.

I buy the little rolls (quills) to infuse and make cinnamon tea.

Oil the potential cinnamon benefits for skin are rooted in its antibiotic and antimicrobial properties that can help protect skin from irritation, rashes, allergic reactions and infection. Applying cinnamon essential oil directly to the skin can be helpful in reducing inflammation, swelling, pain and redness

One of the benefits of cinnamon and honey (another antimicrobial ingredient) is that used together they can boost skin health even more and may be beneficial for acne, rosacea and skin allergies.

Drinking as a tea. Depending on the taste you want depends on how many quills you use. I use two in a pint of boiling water let it step for 10 minutes then I pour a cup to drink straining with a tea strainer leave the rest to cool for later. I use honey in a hot drink and mix with lemonade in a cool drink.

Use as a powder in baking in bread too mmmm cinnamon added to sultana loaf eat with butter when it’s hot yummy.

You can also buy cinnamon supplements but I prefer it as a tea while I do something else to relax and find I can usually come up with a solution to my issue or I have a drink before bed and this works too. I stress this works this way for me but may work for you too.

Side effects

Cassia cinnamon has been studied more extensively than Ceylon cinnamon. Researchers believe that Ceylon cinnamon actually has more health benefits than Cassia cinnamon. Ceylon cinnamon also contains less of a compound named coumarin than Cassia cinnamon. This can be potentially damaging to the liver when consumed in high amounts so for this reason Ceylon cinnamon is the better option for producing high concentrated cinnamon extracts and much better.

I prefer to make my own tea. I make one in the morning and I have one in the evening if I’m at home. If I feel I need a boost I have one. I personally find it more comforting and I manage to focus better than taking supplements and pills. Of course cinnamon rolls with coffee works too better if your brainstorming with someone or in a group.

I believe that you may find this useful I’m not sure it is training but as a blog you may like to experience the benefits of a simple but effective spice you may already have in your cupboards.

Enjoy
