Youtube... it can be a scary place.
It's one of those aspects of online marketing I know a lot of people here are very hesitant to get started with. I was pretty scared for a long time.. but I realized using YouTube can really expand your reach and help your brand, so I just forced myself to get over it. It was a bit of a struggle for me since I suffer from social anxiety, and putting myself "out there" is beyond my comfort zone. (Blogging was initially something I wasn't comfortable with either, but I got over it soon enough)
If you're unsure of creating YouTube videos for fear of too much exposure, realize you don't have to actually put your face on the camera (I have yet to do this). You can make videos in other ways too, like using screencast software or creating nice slideshows.

For my channel, I started using ScreenCast O' Matic to do screen cast tutorials. It is free, but for $15 a year you can have access to a lot more features and pretty decent video editing software (plus let's you upload it directly to youtube). If you're considering starting any type of screencasts, I'd recommend looking into it since the basic version is entirely free and it's crazy cheap to upgrade.
So, now I'm happy to report my channel is up and running... even though I still have a lot of work to do. Getting over the initial fear was a huge accomplishment for me. Now I'm still trying to figure out video editing and YouTube... ugh. It's unknown territory and taking awhile to get used to it all, but I'm getting there...

Right now I'm basically just using it for WordPress tutorials, but I will try to incorporate more into the mix. Still have a long ways to go, but glad I at least started putting it out there.
