When I woke up this Monday, I found myself thinking about thinking.

"What was I really thinking?"

"Am I thinking or thinking is happening?"

"And who am I or where am I?"

Then I read the book of Dr. Raymond Charles Barker, "The Power of Decision" and continued with my Day #1- The Practice of Living Consciously (lighting the white scented Candle which is a symbol I chose to be my first day of the week candle ritual to reflect on how to live consciously.

Why must you practice living consciously?

Thinking is taking place in our lives whether we are conscious or unconscious of it. Our mind is the only tool for survival. We are receivers of ideas and thoughts from our environment as well internally.

"You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free"

Although we are receivers of ideas, not all people enjoy or choose to think about all the ideas.

Consciousness is a state referred to by many religions as enlightenment or expansion of consciousness, or to be born again, salvation. It is regarded to be the highest state of manifestation.

Living consciously is the ability to be aware of your environment both outside and inside, and to guide your action accordingly.

It is a state to be aware of some aspects of reality and facts.

Since thinking is volitional, seeking awareness, or not or actively avoiding it, seeking truth (facts of reality), or avoiding the truth, these may invalidate our mind, self-efficacy, and self-respect.

If you do not honor your own thoughts, ideas, values, needs, wants and purpose, life becomes a race of emptiness. You lose value in yourself although you may be regarded as successful in following other people's ideas, thoughts, values, and goals.

The practice of living consciously is to face facts and truth. You never get to see your shadow unless you are not facing the sun. And also the sun does not make shadows, but when we obstruct the sun, we begin to make shadows.

"I know I am living beyond my means, but........"

"I know the way I eat is wrecking my health, but ...."

"I know my children suffer from having little of me and this is causing hurt and resentment, but one day. I will change."

The practice of living consciously is being responsible for reality and the truth we know.

"Actions speak louder than words"

"Faith without action is dead"

"Practice what you preach"

The practice of living consciously is to aware and responsible for reality. You do not need to like what you see, know or hear. You must learn to accept and recognize that which is as is, and that which is not, as is not.

I hope you are enjoying your Easter Monday or Tuesday, whichever day this is to you, and just paying attention to your thoughts could seriously change your life experiences.

I hope you will share some of your thoughts as aroused by these thoughts...
