The hardest thing I find during building my website

After I started building my website, I found that it really was not an easy path.

Various problems have come to my face.

Such as:

  1. I have to search and learn lots of technical stuff if I want my website to look better.
  2. Joining affiliate programs usually needs plenty of details that I don't even know how to answer them.
  3. I need to search tons of information to write a post targeting a topic that is popular yet beyond my knowledge.
  4. Traffic is really a mystery for me.
  5. on and on and on......

However, until now, there is one thing that bothers me the most, and I believe this can be a problem for some of you as well.

Writing an engaging content is more difficult than I thought.

According to my knowledge, there are 3 following principles to write an engaging content:

  1. You need to make use of visual effect, like fonts' sizes and colors, relative images, videos and so on.
  2. You need to make sure that the content and the paragraphs don't look wordy but easy to read.
  3. Even better, your writing has to catch readers' concentration, interest and the desire to take action you ask them to do.

You may see that these are quite fundamental if you have been doing online business for a while.

Then why is it the hardest thing I find during building my website?

In short, the reasons can be summarized as below:

  1. I want to add an image or a banner with a link in it, but I don't know how to add a link in that.
  2. I find that font's color can't be customized because it's bonded with the theme's setting.
  3. I don't know how to add a table in my post like in Word.
  4. Since English is not my mother tongue, it's still a bit hard for me to write in a funny, natural way. I still think my posts are like essays.
  5. It's really not easy to know what readers are interested in, not to mention writing a content that intrigues them.

Sorry if the above sounds like complaining, but I'd be grateful if some generous fellows would give me your precious advice or suggestions. Anything would be of great help for my writing and building website.

I know it'll be a lot harder in the future.

Writing is only a small part of online business. As I progress, there will be tons of more difficult and more complicated task waiting for me to finish. But NONE of these would stop me, otherwise I wouldn't have stayed in WA until now.

After all, life is made up of a series of tasks, but it is how we complete them that makes life fantastic.

Hope this post can draw people both who have the same problems and who know how to solve them. If you would like to share your opinions in comment down below, I'm sure whoever sees this post will receive timely help.

Thanks for your reading. I saw someone said there was a bomb causing serious tragedy; that was unfortunate, and I feel so sorry to hear that. This year has been an indecent time for too many sorrowful things are happening around the world. Please take care and stay safe.

Keep reaching out for all the help you need.

You deserve it, you gave me such good feedback on Site Feedback, I really appreciated the time you took.

I feel like you are more advanced than I am so I'm not sure I can help too much.

I could look at one of your posts and show you how to edit for a more natural sound in English. PM me if you want.

Thank you so much and I really appreciate that. I just gave you what I could think of, and I'm glad that my opinion could help you. Also thank you for providing me your assistance in my writing skills. I definitely will look for you when I need a hand. Look forward to further conversations with you.

Hey Henry, my suggestion...

Ask questions any time you get stuck.

As for writing, I've hated writing for years BUT it's true when Kyle and other members say your writing gets better … you see, the MORE you write the better it gets AND you’ll enjoy writing. Templates for your reviews really help. Just keep your writing natural. Write like you're talking to your friends ... you're having a conversation with them. You'll be more comfortable and your writing will be your style and your readers will warm up to you.

Use WA's Site Content... it checks on your spelling and grammar too.

Just stay focused on the training and do each task (DO NOT MISS A TASK). When I started, I jumped in, doing this and that and didn't follow the lessons... well that just frustrated and overwhelmed me and I wasted a lot time.

It’s better to follow the lessons and do each task. Make sure you understand it and if you don't, then ask questions on the part you're stuck on in the lesson.

Have fun and enjoy the training, stay focused.

All the best,
Monica

Thank you, Monica. Your words are really warm and encouraging.

I like the question asking system here too. I asked several questions to the community before, and they all got timely answered and efficiently solved. It is also what I promote about WA the most to my friends and new members. I'll keep making use of it.

About the task, I have to shamefully admit that I skipped them too. And the result was just like how you describe. Recently I decided to start over, and this time I'll be rigidly self-disciplined to complete every task. I found that I make progress much faster when sticking to the lessons rather than skipping them. Lesson learned.

Anyway, thank you for your kind and helpful suggestions. It does give me lots of momentum.

You're welcome, Henry!!

Stay focused on the lessons and never ever miss any of the tasks because that's how your online business grows and develops. It's easy to stray and try to do what other experienced members are doing but you'll learn them in due time.

Monica

I feel you 100%. I'm not good at writing at all and it's very hard to write content on my website. I didn't have any experience on any things that we do here. Now last five-six days i have been only focusing to finish my basic content for my website and after that i will continue training lessons. The point is that, i have noticed that i have been getting better on making content and writing stuff. I can't even imagine on what level my skills are next year, on this kind of things motivation is the key for your career.

Br, Ipe

Indeed, lpe. Skills really take time, but eventually it will be worth it. Thank you for the encouragement. I'll always keep my initial motivation in mind and keep writing.
