Attitude toward getting success

Last time I introduced Wealthy Affiliate to one of my roommate, his responses made me wonder some questions I found interesting.

When facing new things, should we doubt it first or just give it a try?

This is a big question for me and some of you guys as well.

Some people say "Think before you do" or "Don't take what others say so easily" and so on. What they actually mean is that it's important to develop your own thoughts, so we won't get spammed in the world full of frauds.

Yes, be those who can think. That's why education and schools are so essential, I guess.

However, my roommate just showed me another side of this value.

Whenever I mentioned those top 100 experts and ambassadors on WA, he always called them "spy" whose job is to make us believe what we see on here is true. BUT HE NEVER REALLY TOOK A LOOK.

What I'm talking right now is that he wasn' t just being skeptical, he was questioning something before trying to understand it. Isn't this a little not right?

If he did look at the website and finally gave such an opinion, I wouldn't say anything. But the problem is he didn't. And this is only one thing among what he said during that conversation. I must say I don't believe he really knew what he was talking about, more like making fun of it.

So what's the point?

Maybe it was the unique atmosphere of WA that gave me this impression, if you want to succeed here, you must be extra-willing to embrace new and strange things. WA, even the entire online business field, is the place requiring the ability of self-teaching so badly.

If you have a question, search it. If you can't find the answer, ask whoever knows. If you don't know who to ask, search it again. That's how we survive in the online world, because there is one brutal fact—nothing will be brought to us by itself unless we go for it.

Hence, back to this roommate, if he really doesn't want to take my heeds so easily, then he should at least go search the answers by himrself, not just disagreed whatever I said for no reasons. If he says that's for "thinking for myself", such doing doesn't seem to have any "thinking" part in it, does it?

What is the right attitude toward getting success?

With my point of view, I think it's the balance between two extremes, accepting and doubting. Neither single one of them can bring us to ultimate success by itself. The world is complicated. We are complicated. Therefore, our way of thinking shouldn't be the opposite, right?
