Quick question about deleting my indexed pages from the search engines?
Hey all you awesome WA folks!
I have come to a point where I want to start from scratch with a new theme but the same domain name.
I was planning on just rewriting all my content but still using the same keywords and titles ect... My concern is that the pages and posts that have been indexed will show this as duplicate content and penalize my site.
Anyone out there know how to get this done and effectively "clear" the indexed pages and posts from the search engines?
Thanks!

No, duplicate content is what the name say: twice the same content. What you want to do is updating posts. This will have no effect on google ranking.
I did the same thing with one of my pages once, I noticed that the keyword I used was ranking #1, but driving no traffic, so I decided to change the keyword. I dit so, and left the content the same, now this article is on the first page.
As I understand, the duplicate content means to have the same content on two different websites. But if you have it on one site only (url changed) it shouldn't be considered as duplicate.
Thanks Khaos! By deleting the url in webmaster tools does that mean it will be totally gone from the web until I publish a new one?
The reason I ask is because I have placed posts in categories and other places on my site that I no longer want there so I need to completely delete it so I can re-submit it in the place I want it.
I know I could go through and add re-directs but I'd rather, like I said above, just start from scratch as if the site never existed before.

Using wordpress you wont lose your content if you change your theme. You can change your theme as many times as you want, all you do is appearance and themes, you might need to redo the menus and reclick on the permalinks.
You can then go into google webmaster tools and edit the info they have in there to tidy things up, find out if there are any errors.
