It's a BOY!! also Blog issues
Hey friends!
I have been kinda out of commission for a couple days! This past week has been SUPER eventful!
First off my wife gave birth to our first child this past week! I am soooo happy!! I never thought I'd love someone so completely and instantly!! He was born on the 13th and his name is Jens an American version of Yens from Sweden!
Then it was Valentines day!
Lastly it was my birthday on the 15th!!
So to say we were busy is a severe understatement!
But now that I'm back in the WA mode I have a question.
I removed the default home page which was a blog role and replaced it with a static custom Home page. I still want to have a blog role that I will call "Blog" but I don't know how to goa about setting that up?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

WOO HOO! CONGRATULATIONS! I have two young boys and they are awesome! In the beginning you may feel as if they don't interact much with you, you can't feed them, etc. Hang in there and wait until the "infant" stage passes... now my boys can't get enough of their Daddy and it is great to see their faces light up when he walks in the door from work! I'm SO happy for you!!! Happy Birthday, too!
In terms of the static page- I did the same thing as you. Couldn't figure out how to also get the blog roll going so I just created very specific categories on the right side and categorized my blogs. It is easier this way for readers to identify exactly what they'd like to read. Between that and the "current blogs" showing up above, I haven't had any traffic problems with folks clicking to read.
Yes I was just telling my wife that I am really looking forward to the time when I can get down on the floor with my boy and wrestle and just play around! I just hope I can be a good enough example for him!
I like the category idea, seems to keep it more organized and I like organized.

I have also had trouble with setting up a blog, I have gotten suggestions to organize with categories, but I still haven't gotten around to actually doing it. Good luck to us all! Clock is ticking for me, my little one is due in April, I really want to make some serious progress before the big event!
Big, friendly slap on the back, congratulations on your new baby!! I remember those first days well, they are some of my fondest memories. My first son was born on Valentine's day, and my second boy was born on the 12th of February, which prone my father to ask if I did it with the calendar by the night table, but I digress. Have fun! Sleep as much as you can, be ever more grateful with your wife, just look at the gift she just gave you, and post pictures of the little bundle :)

Thank you Oscar! Haha if my sleep was a commodity it has tripled in value in the last week alone! But its all worth it for sure! February is a good month for having kiddos!

Very cool! My family on my Dad's side is both Swedish and Danish and my wife's ancestry is from Norway so that's where we got the name!
Nice - my husband's American but wanted Scandinavian names for the kids - so our daughter is Maja and son is Kaj (hard for people here to know that the "j" is pronounced as a "y").

When you create new page if you look in your right hand side you can see "page attributes" within that box you can see Template, in the drop down you can select "page with post" select that one then all of your post will be added to that page automatically.
Note: it may depends on themes I am not sure, but I did that in my website
