My experiences, my progress and my goals as Wealthy Affiliate member 3 months far.
How I wish life in this planet earth feels like bed of roses. You behold the rose, smell the rose and momentarily lost in awe and wonder but when the rose petals stop giving out the sweet aroma, the desire and need to keep starts to diminish. So are the roses in making and achieving progress, motivation, dedication and the determinations in life.
It has been 3 months now that I committed to being a member of this great community at Wealthy Affiliate. I signed up for a year membership. I purchased my own domain, built a website to the best of my ability. I wrote posts from which I eventually discovered a niche.
Though initially I was confused on were to write and publish my posts as I see other members posting some fun and entertaining ideas and information on the platform. So I thought I could do the same and at the same time make money which is the main idea behind starting the online business, right?. I had no idea what make a post a scam. I was informed that I could be risking posing as scam and will be banned. That was my first scare. I then started using my site to post everything posts. This idea made my site nonspecific and nonfocused.
I am writing all these so that when you sign up you do not make the same mistake that I did because at this stage in my online business, instead of focusing on writing more posts that are niche based and publishing, I am focusing on figuring out how to separate the mixture. Should I start all over with new site and new niche or continuing and just focusing from now onwards.
My point is when you sign up and purchase you domain, your site is only for your niche topic, let us say you picked home decoration as your niche, make sure that anything you are posting on your site is focused on home decoration and nothing more. If you have fun topics or ideas to share with the group/community, you have to post it on the Wealthy Affiliate site but without any link to your site or link to any site so you don't appear as scammer.
I have completed some of the basic trainings but have not gone to boot camp which is essentially my next important goal after I get things strengthened out.
As I clearly stated in my first month of using this program, I stumbled into Wealthy Affiliate by chance while looking for online business that will help me stay home and take care of my family. I use to work as registered nurse in a rehabiliatation hospital but out of frustration, stress and abusive work environment I quit the job which was my sole source of income. The abusive and intimidating work environment created panic attack and health issues for me ( the effect of which I am still fighting till date).
I searched and tried some of the work from home madness out there and put in a lot of money without recoverying a penny. So I was very careful when I was looking this time, I saw some affiliate marketing programs but I had no interest unitl I stumbled into Wealthy Affiliate.
Wealthy Affiliate unlike some other affiliate marketing programs out there is real, what you see is what you get, what you put in is what you recieve. Testimonials from the users are conviencing. It is not a platform where you make money so fast. It requires commitment, hard work and also knowing what you are doing.
The community is helpful and great team players and the support team are excellent. They take their job and commitment to the program seriously.
I have learned a lot since I started this program, I was not and still I am not a computer and internet savvy. Some of the terminologies still sound foreign and out of this world. Trust me when I say that you will find it more challenging than those who are knowledgeable and comfortable with internet terminologies. This type of online marketing requires you to study and figure a lot of things out.
The Wealthy Affiliate University is a big releaf because without that step by step guidance on how to build website and the posts and other things, it would have been big waste of time and resources for novices like me.
The key players in the training platform Kyle and Gay are wonderful people. Individuals in the community can and do also create training on topics they feel comfortable with. There are live chat where you can communicate, ask questions and get answers and also share ideas and connect with online friends.
I am not here today to sugar coat or silver coat Wealthy Affiliate, if you are not social ant and are not into social sites madness, you may have hard time with online marketing. I am not one and hence when I started coming across create account with FB, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Google + and the rest of them, that was when I started falling apart because I was not much into those.
When you create account with some of those they would want you to register for a business page and if you are struggling financially that becomes a problem. Another problem is that after you sign in, you are expected to be active and show up daily otherwise you may not be taken serious.
We are already hooked up on this WWW. and the internet and social sites that I feel like addiction is already here and to keep extending hand and grabbing as much as you can find, makes things more complicated.
I will prefer that Wealthy Affiliate pick one or two meaningful ones with proven record to introduce to WA community instead of making all of them feel important and necessary.
I know I have problem reading policies and procedures and the like but would have appreciated if I know from the start that this is where I need to post something like this under so so and so conditions and not to jam pack everything in my site.
I have not made any money yet and may not be making any in the next month or so due to the problem I have with my site right now but I know that as soon as I get everythings strengthened out and get back on track, I am hopeful and determined.

Thanks for sharing great thought. Good things often take time and most good things require effort on the individual’s part to obtain them.

Thanks for sharing Regina, the start of your WA journey can prove to be challenging. If you work consistently, apply the training and seek help when needed you will progress. Best wishes as you go forward.
