First Affiliate Commission!

I finally have the distinct honor to proudly announce that I made my first affiliate sale today... After 18 months since joining Wealthy Affiliate (of which more than half of that was extremely part time, and several months at a stretch I was neglecting my websites).

It was a measily $6 Amazon purchase in my niche... which I'm sure the commissions are barely a quarter of a dollar.

But who cares? I have just proven that somebody actually find my website, click through to an affiliate link, and then made a purchase in my niche!

Insights...

A week ago, I ran Google Page Speed Insights against my website, and received a horrible score. So I spent a bit of quality time changing the theme (I found that Hello Elementor is a very clean, fast-loading theme), reorganizing the website to make it look more user-friendly, dividing my posts up into categories (I have about 30 posts so far).

Now I have experienced a better than 50% increase in my Google Page Speed Insights...

I use Statcounter for my website analytics (I know that we should be using Google Analytics... which I have installed, but I have found the free version of Statcounter to be much simpler and the statistics more useful and intuitive to interpret...) and I observed that Google crawled my website after my theme update...

.. And now I am seeing a very slight uptick in the number of visits to my site now... At least 3 to 5 visitors per day now consistently, over the past week.

So this is about to get real in 2020.

For those of you who are new to this, there IS light at the end of the tunnel.

Just follow the OEM training, do as it says, get help from the community, and you too will be able to make a post just like this one, before you know it.

(The fact that it took me 18 months is because there were long stretches of months where I put less than 4 hours per month, due to allowing life to "get in the way". I can only imagine if I had been able to put in 20 hours PER WEEK, how quickly I could have produced results!)
