My WordPress Panic - Where did my article go?

I recently posted an article that I created in Elementor because it had several graphs in it. Someone kindly did a review on my website and pointed out I was missing this article – there was nothing under the heading!

So I headed on over to WP and, sure enough, there was nothing there, and not in my trash either. Elementor would not let me go back in to pull up any early revisions.

I then checked out Google for an explanation and it was a bunch of gobbledygook that confused me even more.

After the panic subsided somewhat, and I was sitting staring at the blank Post page, I scrolled down further and spied “Revisions.” I clicked on one from a week ago and voila! There was my missing post.

So, if this ever happens to you, once the panic subsides, check out Revisions. And I want to thank @Jenny28 for doing a comment on my website and pointing this out to me.

Has this happened to you?

Hi MaryAnn, hasn't happened to me yet. Good fact to know. Thank you for the share.

Best wishes,
Michael

You are welcome.

Thanks very much for sharing!

You are welcome.

Glad you were able to recover it. I do all my drafts in Word, copy them to the template in WA, then publish them. Have never had a problem. Seems to work for me.

I agree, Joe and I do as well. But if you took a look at the article, you would understand why I didn't want to recreate it. Elementor is a bit different but I use it when I have to set up the post in a different format. And my issue was that when I tried to go back into Elementor, it would not allow me to do that (which would have been a help because it also keeps a revision there as well).

It worked! That's the main thing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

This happened to me one and I re-created the post. Now, it should never happen again. Thanks a bunch!

I just couldn't contemplate doing it over - I do keep all my originals in a word document but it was setting it up, adding the graphs - so my motivation was to find it somewhere so I wouldn't have to do it over :). Glad this will help you if it should happen again.
