1 Month Record: Why I Choose Yearly Membership

It has been 1 month since I subscribed to yearly membership. For my first WA blog, I am going to record my reasons and make it as a reminder: Hey YU! Do not give up easily!

Why I want to start an online business?

Oh it’s a long story.😅

In January 2020, I suspended my 9-5 job (it’s only a pause, not having the courage to quit) and came to the US for studying. I was looking forward to leaving some annoying things (for example, the job I don’t like), enjoying my new, abroad life, making new friends, traveling all around... But the Covid came in. The city I lived was shut down. I cannot go to the school. I am not daring going outside. I felt really board and sucks in the mid of the year.

And then I thought I cannot waste my time anymore. It’s actually a good timing to start doing things that I wanted but didn’t have time (or said that I didn’t have time) to do. Then, I got the chance to know “affiliate marketing.”

I remembered that when I first heard of this term, I was really excited! I thought that I have found the dreaming work! It may be a little overstated. But think about this. What kind of job can let you say whatever you want to say and still make money? What kind of job can let us combine our interests and really enjoy it? What kind of job can let you work freely? I think affiliate marketing can!

Why I join WA?

When I googled more about learning affiliate marketing, WA came to my search page (Wow SEO!). In the beginning, I joined WA simply because WA has free membership. I lose nothing to give it a try, right? And honestly, WA provides lots of things even for free member (you can even build a free website in only 5 minutes!).

Then, WA gives us first month discount for $19. Well, that’s still not much. So I upgraded to premium membership without thinking much. And everybody here knows how many resources WA provides for premium members. Way much more than for free members! Really, almost everything you need for affiliate marketing you can find here. I enjoyed learning in WA for the whole month.

Then, it’s time to choose.

Monthly membership? Yearly membership? Give it a halt?

  • Hesitation 1: I Have Built a Website Before Joining WA.

Although I heard of WA early, I did not choose to build my first website in WA. Mainly because of the languages. English is not my native language (btw, I am sorry if there’s some strange grammar here...). I followed other Chinese website to build my own on the WordPress.

Therefore, I am wondering that if I don’t build a website on WA, is WA still worth it? How long will it be worthy?

  • Hesitation 2: I am Not Building an English Website.

As I mentioned above, English is not my native language. I am not building an English website. Thus, I found that some amazing functions, such as Site Comment and Jaxxy, are not suitable for websites in other languages. It’s really a lost being unable of using these functions.

  • Hesitation 3: USD $495 is Not a Small Amount of Money for Me.

After my first month of premium membership, I knew that I still want to learn in WA. I hasn’t exploring WA all. But I don’t know how long will I last. If I go straight to yearly membership, is it worth?

I am sometimes an irresolute person. I really hesitated for a while. Not sure what is the best for me. Not sure whether I will regret it or not.

But finally, I decided to go yearly membership!

  • Reason 1: I Promise Myself to Insist for At Least 1 Year.

I’ve heard one saying that “the average time of making money by writing a blog and affiliate marketing is about 9 months to 1 year and that most people will give up in 6 months.” it’s actually 3 to 6 more months that one can have some gain. They’re almost there, but they give up. They don’t know how much close they are to the goal.

I don’t want to be like that. So I give myself one year. No matter how frustrated I am during the progress, I cannot give up. I will work hard on this for at least 1 year. Not until 1 year can I decide whether I will continue my online business or not.

  • Reason 2: Why Not Save Some Money if I am Going to Do It Either Way.

So, I promise myself to insist for at least 1 year. If I am going to do this for the following year, why not just subscribe the yearly membership and save USD $93?

Besides, if I choose monthly membership, I may find excuses to stop learning affiliate marketing. Go straight to the yearly membership and I don’t need to hesitate whether should I stay in WA every month.

  • Reason 3: I Don’t Need to Worry that the Materials in WA are Too Few to Learn.

Although some functions in WA are not so suitable for websites in foreign languages, there are still abundant things to learn. For now, I’ve finished the course - Online Entrepreneur Certificate, and I am going to watch 1 to 2 webinars every week. The live webinars hosted by Jay are amazing! I am sure that there are enough things I can learn for the following year.

Yeah, that’s it. It really took me some time to make the decision. But so far I think I made a wonderful one! Looking forward to how much I am going to grow in the following year. Feel free to share the post to your friends if they have the same hesitation like me.

What do you guys think? Do you choose monthly or yearly program? Does anybody also feel indecisive after joining WA? Share with me!
