2 weeks in- Fear of Failure & Analysis Paralysis

I can't believe that two weeks has past since I first signed up with WA. Have to say, I've enjoyed it immensly. Thank you to everyone that's helped me so far, and I look forward to meeting those that are going to help in the future.

I'm still a newbie of course, and still finding my feet, but as I think back to two weeks ago and think about how I felt, I know that there are others coming through the door behind me who are going to be feeling exactly the same way.

I'm not really in a position yet to offer much advice, but I can at least reflect on my experiences so far and offer some words of encouragement for those who have just joined, or are about to join.

Firstly, you should know that I'm considered technically challenged by my wife and kids. Sure I can wire a plug- if I've got a diagram to work from. I'm banned from touching the back of the TV set, and this morning I spent 40 minutes getting my new laptop to hook up to the WiFi.

Secondly, I'm not famous for my attention span, or my self discipline. Both are almost non-existent, but at least they're in proportion to one another.

One thing I do have in abundance, is the ability to not finish something I've started- apparently it's just my nature (according to a recent Enneagram test I took anyhow).

I am also blessed with a real knack for preempting and focusing on potential problems that, in all probability, aren't that likely to occur and if they do, can be dealt with quite easily as and when they arise.

What has become apparent here at WA is that in all likelyhood, out there, I probably would fail.

My experience in here and has shown me, that being a little overwhelmed by the amount of information, feeling like a rabbit in the headlights... is ok.

Fearing failure (self-doubt) is... actually pretty normal.

Making mistakes is...just part of the learning process.

The training along with the encouragement and support that you are going to receive from Kyle, Carson and the many, many members who are always there and more than happy to help, WILL see you through.

If you have the odd wobble and start to feel the symtoms of fear of failure and analysis paralysis, see them for what they are but don't give way to them. Just keep following the tutorials to the letter and asking questions as you go.

You know, I think this is actually going to be something I AM going to finish!

One bit of content at a time Wayne. It will get done

And so be it! I've actually just finished the final revision of my first post. It's taken a lot longer than I initially thought, but I'm pretty pleased with the result. Onwards and upwards!

Give and get comments from other members for our post is a very good way to get visitor, input and information about the content. SiteFeedback also useful.

Indeed Melani. This is an area I'm focusing on now.

Great post, Wayne. You show you're willing to out yourself out there! Amazing what you can learn in a short time with good instruction.

All the Best

Warren

Exactly! Thank you Warren :)
