Regroup and Redirect
Well...where do I start? I have been a member here at WA for almost 21 months. I have a website with content and have tried to monetize it. However, a year ago last May I had a small heart attack and ended up getting bypass surgery. Since then I have been struggling to stay positive and motivated.
One of the issues I deal with is a lack of experience in the niche I chose to do with the RV lifestyle. Because of my lack of expertise in this field, I have struggled with writing content and because I have been struggling to write content I have lost confidence in my abbility in this area.
That said, I still have about 2 1/2 months in this year's membership so I would like to set up a website to promote WA because I know that this is a great program and I think I could do better with a fresh start on something different.
As far as goals are concerned, It would be great if I could get even just a 100 referrals by the end of my current membership and move on from there. I know that it is possible because I have seen others make great strides here.
I'm 68 years old and, at the moment, am not working at my part time job because of some back issues so I see this avenue as my only real choice at giving my wife and myself the opportunity to have a comfortable life after retirement.
Again...I know it CAN be done and I know that if it is to be it's up to me. I will get out of it what I put in.
So, here goes....
Above is what I recently added to the "Discussion forum" at the beginning of the first lesson of the "Affiliate Program". I have really struggled with my confidence level going the other route of trying to develop a niche website that I thought would be perfect for me because my wife and I like to camp in our trailer a couple of times a year. Most of the struggle has been in my own head. I don't think I have ever truly believed that I really could do this and I do understand that I only get out what I put in.
I have learned a few things through the research that I have done so, the whole experience of building this site hasn't been without it's benefits. However, as I look at other websites in this niche, I see that they are better able and have waaaaaaaay more savy and experience than I.
In many ways these people are way more involved with this niche in ways like, well...they actually work in the RV industry and/or they are full time RVers and have a lot more experience to draw on.
I actually did try to do both courses at the same time but just found all the info was too much for my brain to wrap around so I went with what I thought would be the easier route and proceeded with the "Certification Course". Now I'm thinking it's time to switch tracks and I'm going to spend the remainder of this years membership trying to build a site promoting WA.
WA has an excellent program. I haven't researched any of the other programs out there and judging by what I hae read from other members in our group it's probably a good thing that I found WA when I did because I do believe that WA is one of, if not THE best out there for people that are interested in learning about online affiliate marketing.
I have approximately 2 1/2 months to see if I can make this work even a little and with a little help from my friends here at WA I believe it will happen.

Hey Wayne--
When you are starting in a niche, a specialized one like RV-ing or whatever, of course most of it is new to you. Of course there are people who have more experience in that particular field, and there are people who work in that industry who know more about the actual RVs themselves. But they didn't always. Everybody was new at what they are doing at some point or another. It took them time to gain the knowledge and experience they have, just like it will take you time. Whether in the RV field or in another field entirely, it will take you the time it takes you. This is something we all realize after a bit of time.
Take that time. Research the industry and what it has to offer. Go look at some RVs and check out all their different features. Visit some camp grounds and see what amenities they offer. Or just write about the different things you and your wife do when you do a short trip together. How do you prepare for the trip? What do you pack? Did you ever forget an important item when you left for the trip? How do you get your little camp site set up? What do you do to fill the time once you are there? Do you have an itinerary or do you wing it? Are there places you have visited that you would recommend? Do you have any awesome pictures from any of these places that you could share with your audience?
Sorry. I did not mean to become so long winded. It just struck me when you said that some people were just waaaaaaaaay more savvy or whatever. There will always be people that know more about some things than we do. You did say that your goal is to start doing more of this type of travel with your wife in the future, so this is all stuff you need to learn about anyway. So, go check it all out. You can learn it for your niche website, and then put it to use in your personal life in the future. You can learn what you need to know, and to succeed. With time. With patience. With passion. With perseverance. And a little faith and prayer.

If this niche is not getting you excited to write and share what you can research and do, write about something you have a passion about. Write a blog about what interest you, you don't need a website start with a blog what is your hobby and choose items from Clickbank or other affiliate programs you are part off.That way you are able to make at least some income.
