Images are ranking!
So, every once in a while, (ok, more like 3x a day) I do a Google search on some of my keywords and my actual site name. Some are on page 1 or 2, others I spent hours looking for. Well, today something different happened.
I Googled my website name and after the normal posts and pages come up, it showed images for my site. I clicked it and sure enough, some of the images I use on my posts and pages were on page one and the first three rows of the image viewer.
I take this as great news! (Hopefully I'm not looked at as a weirdo).
Anyway, my question is should I be doing anything different with my images to rank better or just keep on keepin' on?
If anyone has had this experience, let me know.
Best wishes,
Dan aka wamnymkr

It means that Google has taken notice of you cos your cakes look so beautiful and yummy! ;)
Awe, thanks Sue! It means a lot. They are awesome products. I just gotta get the word out.
With page 1 ranking, you should be getting traffic, but what you need is local traffic, if I'm understanding your business correctly.
Which lesson are you at? Have you started using Social media?
But the page one ranking I'm getting is off of my website name. Not many people are going to search for my website without knowing about it first. I am using social media including FB and G+. I haven't gotten into twitter or instagram yet. I'm about to start the lesson on adding affiliate marketing, but my site is designed for one product and affiliate company. I'm not sure if I want to put ads all over my site for other products.
What you need is get page 1 ranking for keywords searched by local customers e.g. order birthday cake + location, then they will find your website
Perhaps, some affiliate for gifts or party ware? Just some ideas...
Pinterest might be good for your kind of products.
Yes, definitely use Google+ and Fb too.
Thanks for the tips. I guess the gifts/party items would pair great with the cakes. I will definitely add that in with this lesson that I'm on. I'm working on the keywords too by adding posts for promotions and specific categories. I've had a little success with some, but I'm still trying to find the homerun keyword.
Thanks.
