How to Optimize Your VIDEO for best streaming online
Hi everyone,
Today I'm uploading a video to YouTube and just found some good tips there. Definitely, I will share it with all of you.
Did you notice one thing (small but extremely important) that when you view a video at YouTube or other video sharing site, some videos loading incredibly FAST while some extremely SLOW or some hiccups or pauses before it continues to playback on YouTube. Of course, it depends on some factors such as YouTube servers, your internet connections, your computer's performance etc.. However, you can improve your uploaded videos at a better streaming speed.
If the video gets slowed down while watching, your viewers would not be patiently enough to watch till the end, they will close that video. This is because when you upload a video from your original video or converted video, you do not pay much attention to some critical elements for video/audio streaming.
Below is some important settings for your videos & make sure you do it first before uploading it online:
Video settings
- Compression Type: H.264
- Video format: mp4
- Frame Rate: 30 is preferred. 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97 are also acceptable.
- Data Rate: Automatic
- Key Frames: Automatic
- Frame Reordering: Unchecked (meaning we don't select or disable this option)
Audio/Sound settings
- Format: AAC
- Choose Constant Bit Rate as encoding strategy
Other settings
- Size: Choose the original size of the video
- “Prepare for Internet Streaming”: Fast Start

HI....I have downloaded the add-on (I don;'t want to duplicate, just download.) ...... I have not rebooted yet..... But since I don't have a BSc degree, what do I do with the download now? Or will it pop up and guide me when I want to download from YouTube and others? tx
The easiest way to download Youtube videos is by using this addon in your Firefox browser.
1. Go here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1-click-youtube-video-download
2. Click on : + Add to Firefox, wait for it to download (very fast)
3. Click install. Done
4. Restart your Firefox browser for this Addon to take effects.
5. Go to Youtuble, click on any of Youtube Video, Look down below that video, you will see a RED Download button (next to Subcribe button).
6. Click on Download button, you will see there're several options for video quality to choose from (720p, mp4, FLV...)
7. click on the one you like, it will download the video automatically.
Now enjoy your video that you just downloaded.

Hi thanks for TUT. Do you know how to copy a video from YouTube? I used to be able to do so years ago, and (unless I've lost my marbles) can't do it now. Can only post the link..... Obviously one will ask permission 1st.... Thanks
Copy a video from youtube? Sorry, not sure what you mean on that. Do you mean how you can download a video or duplicate the video without uploading?
If downloading video, it's very easy: use a addon in Firefox, Chrome...to download the video. E.g. in Firefox, we can use the addon called "DownThemAll" to download the video. Go to your browser & search for addon to download video.
If duplicating a video, it's NOT allowed in Youtube. Youtube's very smart now. It regconizes every bit in your video & find duplications easily.
The only way to "duplicate" videos the smart way is:
1. Download the video.
2. Add some photo/music/intro video right at the BEGINNING of original video.
or: Add some photo/music/call to action part right at the END of original video.
This way, you make your NEW video unique compared to original one. However, do it with much CARE & ATTENTION. You've to know what you're doing because some videos online related to Copyright matter.
