I need to set up a landing page for a little experiment I want to do. I don't want to spend anything and I don't want to use my website. I want to use Google sites as a funnel
How can I create a simple free landing page?
I need to set up a landing page for a little experiment I want to do. I don't want to spend anything and I don't want to use my website. I want to use Google sites as a funnel
As far as I know there is no "such service here" Victor ...
I don't really understand what you are saying by using "Google sites" but ...
... a landing page is a "regular" page on your site ... you need to create it, to publish it, etc ... the only difference: is not a page that can be accessed via your menu structure ...
... and you need to incorporate an email signup form in that page ...
The funnel is one thing and the landing page is another. I would use Google Sites for the funnel. I just needed a landing page with an email sign up page. Problem solved. Mail Chimp has that and is free up to two thousand subscribers and 12,000 emails a month. After that, they have various price plans. They have a simple page creator that I prefer for these purposes.
Yep ... And once you've reached the 2K free subscriber plan limit, they'll charge you more than any other email service provider on this planet ...
Now all I need is a way to drive traffic to the landing page, organic would be best or at least plenty cheap. I haven't decided which of several ideas I want to promote. I need money fast and saw this on a YouTube video. Mail chimp landing page+ Google Site+ payment page (Pay Pal or another service they mention)
You know your priorities better than anybody else ...
The choice is ALWAYS yours ...
What I can tell you from my own painfull experience: the "I need money fast" virus usually makes you to do hasty things ...
What I've learned: the long-term marketing strategy is the only viable option.
Sorry for the interference ...
Godspeed!
Not good. It's funny under the $10 plan it says unlimited subscribers and unlimited emails, but then when you punch in the number of emails you will use on their calculator, the price goes up. I put in 12,000 and it went up to $75. Very tricky. Thanks for the warning.
Any other ideas? I can use my site, but I would need email sign up and payment options, that might be more complicated for me. I know I'm jumping ahead of myself and need to complete the training, but I need money fast.
If you are asking about other email service providers Aweber is the best and most honest and reliable provider
Oh and I know that to be true, but I don't have a choice. Back against the wall and as long as I don't spend too much, it's worth the try....Said Don Quixote as he was charging the windmills.
Aweber does provide landing pages, but it's actually more expensive. Up to 2,000 susbcribers with Mail Chimp is free with 12,000 emails. Aweber is $19 for 500 subscribers, $29 for 2,500. The 12,000 that I would get for $75 with Mail Chimp would cost $149 with aweber. Emails with Aweber are unlimited.
I looked into it and Mail Chimp is free for up to 12,000 emails, 2,000 subscribers. Aweber is $19 for unlimited emails, but only 500 subscribers $29 for 2,500 subscribers, emails are umlimited on all Aweber plans. I don't know whether Aweber offers other advantages.

I am working on a site that I have parked on Hostgator. I am using Word Press.
1) How can I take it offline while I work on it
2) How can I take it off Hostgator
Thanks! I also need to take it offline while I work on it. Any idea how I can do that? Do you have to work on a WP site from the domain?
I suggest you first bring it over to WA.
As for turning it offline I actually think it's not neccessary, but i'm not sure what kind of work you're going to do on it.
It's a website for a dentist friend of mine. It's parked on my domain only because I needed a domain to park it in. He has his own domain which he had on godaddy, but his account is inactive. I want to use my domain for my website, but I don't want to park an unfinished product on his domain and neither would he. Can't I create a website offline without a domain?
You will still work on it from within WA and the WP editor, but you can turn off indexing on all the pages you do not want to be indexed in google or you can unpublish each page you do not want anyone to see, making them private until you are ready for the world to see them. - Will that work?
You can always use one of your siterubix domains and use it like a test site. I had a client want to see two versions of a potential site design and I did this so he could see them to pick which he liked better. When he picked, I transferred that one to his domain which I have hosted on WA as one of my 25 paid sites under my membership. I charge him a small fee each month to host through my account and I charged him several hundred to create the initial site. He is happy and I'm happy so far. I eventually deleted both test sites to clear my siterubix unpaid domains again.
Ok I think I get what you mean.
You can do what Shirley has said, just turn off indexing if you're not ready so Google won't find you.
Another thing you could try is to just plan out whatever content you want, but just save it as a draft. In other words, don't hit publish until you're ready to reveal your page or posts. Note that your site will still be online if you choose to do this, its just that your unfinished posts won't be shown until you publish them.
