Short Update
I know I haven't been very vocal for a while...but I have been lurking! I received my first assignment as a freelance writer! It's very, very exciting for me! I have been taking a little time to start writing a book, too. This is all so different from what I know is expected of me by my family. My daughter is supporting me, which means the world to me! My parents want me to go back to the traditional workforce...it's just not happening.
I still don't have this whole affiliate thing working like it should. I will get there! I really need to work on getting some more followers for my blogs...it'll happen, too. I'm patient!

We all struggle with getting this going :) Keep on writing and sharing with the community! Blessings, gp
I'm starting to think I need to look into a different niche...maybe start another blog. We will see...maybe! :)
I'm new on WA, but have written blogs before and have also "almost" started a book - ha! I am bouncing around right now on what niche to stick with. Are you using social media for traffic now?
I am using Twitter and Facebook (to a point) and I was using G+ and Instagram, but it all got to be way too much with other things going on. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one unsure of my niche(s)! I'm creating a writer's site to market myself for freelance products. I've read that only having a few pages (About me, samples, rates) is the way to go, but I've also read that blogging on the site is better than just a few samples. I'm leaning more toward blogging on it, but just about something very specific...almost a micro-niche, if you will.
Back to traffic...I just installed SumoMe's free suite of plug-ins last night. One portion is called Discover. It's supposed to really increase traffic by having links to other SumoMe subscriber's pages. You earn credits for people using those links, which in turn allows your link to be posted on other sites. Pros and cons to this, obviously, but I want to see how it works.
