How to Tell How Much Pinterest Traffic Your Site is Getting From Other People Sharing Your Pins

Pinterest is a quasi search engine + social media sharing platform. Just like you create pins and they get distributed across Pinterest, people can take the pins they like and reshare them on their own accounts/boards. Those boards and accounts also get visitors from Pinterest which adds an extra layer of exposure you can get, from more impressions, views and outbound clicks to your site.

The question is how do you tell how much traffic your site is getting from Pinterest, specifically from that source? Well in this video I'll show you exactly how to do that and it's super easy! On top of that, this happens naturally as you grow your Pinterest account so you don't really need to do anything different than you already are :)

Let me know if you have any questions!

Welcome keep winning

Can I add Pinterest on my own domain website or my Facebook page?

What do you mean by add?

This is super helpful—didn’t realize you could track that kind of traffic! Thanks for breaking it down so clearly. Can’t wait to check mine! 😊📌

Thanks for breaking this down — this is exactly the kind of insight I was looking for! Pinterest’s indirect traffic (from other people resharing your pins) is one of those hidden gems that most marketers overlook.

Just to add to what you shared:

📊 If you're using Google Analytics, you can go to:
Acquisition → All Traffic → Source/Medium → pinterest.com / referral
From there, you can use Secondary Dimension: “Full Referrer” to see which specific pin URLs or profiles are driving traffic — which often includes other people’s boards too.

Also, using UTM tracking in your own pins can help differentiate your direct pin traffic vs. others resharing yours.

I’ve definitely noticed a snowball effect the more consistent I am. One pin I made months ago is still getting reshared and clicked because someone pinned it to a high-traffic board.

Appreciate the video and template — keep ‘em coming!
