My Website Update

Hello WA family, I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I can say that my week has been ok; I've somewhat made some progress.
Per Ms. @AbieAj's request, I will update you on how I'm doing with my training and website. As far as the training goes, I am making good progress, and I suppose I believe I am coming close to the end.
Now, building my website, well, that's another issue. I don't know; I think I am trying too hard. There are changes that I want to make, and it could never go smoothly; there is ALWAYS an issue.
For example, with the help of the community, I finally figured out how to add a category to my main menu and move a post I had already created to that new category in my main menu. But now, I can't figure out how to change the typography and color, etc., on my post. Ugh! so frustrating.
I want to get rid of a box on top of my Header, but I don't know how to do that. I want to move a new menu I created to my footer (bottom of my page). I don't know how to do that.
I am not sure of my color scheme, on so on. I want it to be done already so I can concentrate on creating content. I didn't realize that I am actually live on Google as I'm building my site, and I think that makes me more nervous and anxious.
I didn't know that I can actually start adding affiliates to my site, another thing I need to start working on but haven't been able to. I am following the training, so I don't know what I am doing wrong.
I know that I need to engage more in the community, but I can't because I am spending all this time trying to get my website right.
I really hope it gets better as I build more websites. With that said, I would love some help familwith y. If you guys can please help me with my site, maybe someone can guide me step by step. Anyways, have a wonderful day. I would love your opinions and advice.

I understand your feelings.
I suggest you keep your mind away from the physical appearance of your website; it doesn't need to be perfect.
Go ahead creating your content; Google reckons more with quality content over others.
You may also check a step-by-step tutorial on Youtube; I do it often.
Take it a step at a time.

I have all the same concerns as you. I am exactly where you are in terms of being live on Google and my website is a mess. I have never developed a website before so I am so frustrated at times. I did hire a tutor to help me as I can't move forward until I have it right. I am having my second tutor lesson today. It has been helpful. Yea, it has me crying at times, and my boyfriend gets upset with me. He tells me this is something I'm supposed to enjoy; it's my dream, my goal.

First I want to say, that the picture you chose for your post instantly grabbed my attention and made me read your post. So you already know how to use pictures effectively!
Concerning your website you simply seem overwhelmed. Like @JoeRebsz mentioned, don't be too concerned about the look of your website at this moment. Focus on generating and publishing useful content for now. This should be your first priority.
However, try to find a tutorial on your WP theme to figure out how to move things around. What theme do you use?
Take this journey step by step. You don't need to have everything in place for now. BTW this may never happen, as a website is a work in progress and there's always things to change and try out:-)
Congrats for being indexed in Google. Yep, that can be a bit intimidating as now people can see you. But isn't that exactly what we want? :-)
Thank you so much, I didn't think things from that perspective, but you are totally right.
I didn't know or understand that creating content should be my number one priority, but now I know. I am actually feeling better now, a bit more confident and a bit more hopeful.

I'm glad we could help you regain your confidence! It's part of the journey to go through all kinds of emotions, from deep frustration to total euphoria.
The beginning is the hardest part, because EVERYTHING is new. But in a few months a lot of things will be second nature to you. Just keep moving forward:-)
I don't use generate press myself, but I think a lot of WAers do use it. So if you want to know something like moving a menu to the footer, just ask. I'm sure someone knows and will tell you.
I can help with some of it
Create a new menu called footer menu and then add the pages you need to that menu and it will show up at the bottom of your website

I can relate to your feelings of frustration. I am just now getting my website functional and as far as how it looks, it is ugly. I am trying not to focus on that and looking at improving my SEO scores and writing more content. That seems to be important to google; at least more important than the style. I would offer to help you, but I am afraid I would make things worse. Take care and keep me posted.
