Scammed I Think
How can we possibly know about all the 1000s of ways we can be scammed these days?
I receive at least 20 Robocalls a day. Things like these make people paranoid. Do you think I answer my phone? Nope!
Yes, I miss plenty of important calls because I have to strain to identify important numbers if they pop up.
Five years ago I received a check in the mail. I didn't know who it was from or why it had my name and other details on it. I waited for over a month to cash it. Another clue was it have an expiration date. That was odd but I bit the apple anyway and took it to the bank.
Upon arriving I asked the cashier if this was a valid check. She conferred with another cashier and they said it was a valid check. Shocking!
I gave them the necessary ID and deposited into my account for clearance.
Two day later I received a letter from the bank stating my account will be closed for fraud.
What? The cashiers thought the check was valid but I paid the penalty. It took close to a year for me to retrieve that check and notify the appropriate legal services to handle my case.
This past February 2019 there was a text message about this new company offering free wireless chargers. Skeptical but curious I watched the presentation on my phone. I was on the bus and had time to waste.
The company is called MagFast.
I hate all these ugly wires hanging out everywhere so I was impressed. These six wireless chargers are called The Magfast Family. They can charge any device.
These individual unit power banks come with a self-storing built-in cable. Mr. Seymour is telling us the traditional USB-A will be replaced with USB-C outlets or ports soon.
Cool part is they connect together by magnets. They looked like legos when I saw them.
Anyway, since they are being crowdfunded my interest peaked more and I bit the apple.
When you order one of these units you get another for free. That order went in 2/5/2019.
I read mega reviews and I am still confused. Some say it is a scam but others say it a new company and production takes time.
Guess I will wait and see what happens

If something is too good to be true it usually is. I went through that check in the mail scam too. For fun I deposited that in my bank. The company even suggested I could get more checks if I withdrew half of it and sent it to them. I knew then is was a money laundering scam. I did nothing and left the money in my account. A week later the bank told me that they were removing the funds because it was a scam. If I had used the money I would have had to pay the bank back.
I went in with my eyes open to test this out. Fortunately I was suspicious and didn't expect to be truly getting free money.
Just as an aside, the niche I have selected here is based on low cost legal protection and identity theft. We can use all the help we can get to protect ourselves from scam artists.
Hi Maggie,
I agree with Brenda63. It will just take a lot of time to get your chargers. You are in on the ground floor for that product. If it is successful, the retail price will probably be higher.
Sorry you went through some scams. Please be aware with crowd funding or kickstarter funding, these are products that are not yet ready made. They gather up the funds that people invests in (so you buy its really your investment) then they used that money to give to a manufacturer company who will make that product. It will take months and months in production then products released after testing done then the released products go out to the investors in the proper order. Do not expect to get the product right away. You are investing in a product that is not yet made. What they have is a demo that is made but not yet fully manufactured. I know about all this because a friend invested in a kickstarter project and crowdfunding also and it took a long time. Typically, its not a scam just that they need a lot of money gathered for manufacturing.
I knew I was taking a chance and I still feel very hopeful. I hate clutter so that promotion was very appealing to me!
Thanks Brenda

Hope is not a scam this time.
