Progress So Far
So, coming into this I had no prior experience with creating websites... None. Nada. Zip.
So it's been fairly difficult to learn all the new terms and mechanics behind the scenes that go into setting a site up. But I'm learning something new and trying to focus on just that everyday. Baby steps, Haha.
As of today, my website still has a very long ways to go to being something presentable for people. I've put in about 3 posts/pages targeting the keywords we were all taught to find and use. But Google hasn't indexed anything yet... which I'll admit, makes me feel a little discouraged. I'm trying to stay positive though.
Currently, I'm sort of struggling to figure out how to lay things out better. When I visit other's websites on here, I see very simple structured and understandable content and layouts. Also very engaging posts, which for me... and my niche.. is a hard task for me to do... I feel like their isn't really much engagement that comes along with my niche, and therefore leads me to just write a sentence of two, followed by tons of links.... and that doesn't seem all that attractive...
Naturally no success with sales yet. But if I were to be proud of anything... it would be how far I've come with the training I've been receiving. It's very helpful stuff, and I wouldn't have even been able to start building a website together without it.
My plans going forward.....
*In the next 3 months:
- I hope to have content written out for all the categorizes on my site.
- Find a better way to lay out my content so it's more engaging and less plain and robotic.
*In the next 6 months:
- Finalizing my theme for my site.
- Become indexed in Google.
- Hopefully make my first sale.
- Have my site more simplified.
Here's a link to my site if anyone is interested: http://universeofcosplay.com/
So with that, I bid you all adieu.. as I continue down my journey.
Best wishes,
~Sarah
