Establish Mile Markers - Signs That You Are Improving

Whenever I walk down an unfamiliar territory, I ask myself 'how do you know that you're improving?', especially in a huge space like online marketing? And sometimes there's so much out there that you may get overwhelmed to the point that it begins to effect you negatively. For myself at the beginning there was a lot of training and information to go through. Nowadays, I call it 'mental and emotional habit forming activity'.

When I ran my half marathon for the first time, which was a tremendous challenge for me at the time since running hurts, one of the motivating factors was seeing those mile markers. I took a picture of each one because each one reminded me that I was going in the right direction, and that I was that much closer to the goal. I can only imagine if those goals weren't there. I can see myself thinking 'how far am I from the goal?', or 'am I going the right way?'. That alone would have been mentally and emotionally depressing and would have cause me to give up thinking that this race was hopeless.

I can imagine that it can be the same with learning about achieving your goals for WA. So I thought I would come up with some 'mile markers' to make sure that I was on the right track. The motivating element is that for every Marker that you pass generates another level of confidence which is enough to keep going!

Please feel free to add, especially those who have been on the road for a while. I would greatly appreciate that!

Marker 1) You begin to understand the vocabulary/vernacular

Few months ago, if you had asked me what many of the concepts (e.g. keywords, back-links, etc) were, I wouldn't know what you were talking about.

Marker 2) You begin to make connections

I started to make the connect between concept and how it contributes to being a successful at WA.

Marker 3) You start thinking in 'chunks' and not 'step-by-step'

There will be a time where you have to go step-by-step through the tutorials, training and tools to make sure you're doing things correctly, and you should go slow. But after working through them and practicing, when someone says 'build a website', you say 'no problem'.

Marker 4) You begin to understand the framework

Eventually you will come to understand the concepts and connections that what you have built for yourself in your mind is the framework. And this is not just the framework for your website, but the framework for how to be a successful internet marketer. This framework is going to be a huge asset for you. It is this framework that you are going to be comparing other Make Money Online (MMO) strategies with. This framework is going to be your evaluator on what is a scam and what is legitimate and know the reasons. This framework will be your foundation for delivering solutions to your customers, clients and niches problems.

Marker 5) You begin to ask how can I improve (faster, better quality, more effieciently) what I current know

Once your framework is established, it is only natural to ask yourself how can I improve on that, not necessarily changing out the framework, but which components of the framework can be improve. Questions like 'How to I get better rankings?', 'How do I get more traffic faster and better?', 'How can I convert faster?', 'Where can I find more leads?', etc.

Marker 6) You begin to think creatively

In your quest to answer these questions on Marker 5, you will begin to find creative solutions to the unique hurdles, pitfalls and challenges. If through your research, there are no satisfying solutions, then guess what....you are the proud owner of a very cool idea that you could profit from!

Marker 7) You begin to think bigger

Now that you have gone through Marker 1-6, you are pretty much fearless about applying your WA muscles to a much bigger audience/niche. Go gettum!

Marker 8) Rockstar status!

WA goals are being accomplished and your are crushing it You aren't afraid of telling people about your journey, and you're more that happy to share your knowledge to see your fellow WAs succeed!
