The Lesson of the Fence

After I placed this beautiful story in the post, I understood that some interesting topics could be derived from it.

First of all, "Fences". Rick, if you are reading this post now- pay attention. A spacious field for your imagination.

Then, hurt. People who are hurt. People hurting people. There's actually, a lot to it.

Who are the people who hurt other people? Mostly, people who have been hurt before. That's how pain patterns get passed, from generations to generations.

it's possible to break this vicious circle at any time.. Meet anger with sympathy, cruelty with kindness, contempt with compassion.Change grimaces for smiles.

Love is the weapon which never fails.

What's saddest, people often hurt people who are the closest to them. It's easiest, because people who love rarely hurt those they love in return.

Each time I come across this phrase attributed to Bob Marley, I feel stricken by its deep truth. (But is it truth, really?) It looks very much like truth, because people are different, but should we really go that far and hurt the other with our uneven edges and make them suffer?

And I'll finish with this a bit cynical and optimistic at the same time, thought.Chew it over and enjoy it. Or better yet, don't let other people hurt you and don't hurt other people.:)

That last is similar to:
'Those that throw dirt at others tend to loose ground'

Thank you Vera.

Thanks for the information.

Wow! Thank you for the message

Great post Vera. Makes you think. I was reading it several times.

Great post Vera. But as you and I know we can turn every negative into a positive. Most times it's only our ego that gets hurt :)

Very valuable lesson, thanks a lot.

Wow! That was quite the read!!!!

I went from crying to smiling in one post!

That had an emotional impact, for sure.

I really love Bob Marley's quote.

I work with women who have lived through abusive relationships.

The Bob Marley quote is a great one to etch into the women's minds because they typically go back to the abuser three times before finally making a decision to leave for good. (That is if they make it out alive.)

Thank you for your post.

I am going to make good use of it.

Susan
