My first 6 months: WA or WOW!
Incredible - half a year has passed since I joined Wealthy Affiliate. It's definitely something to celebrate and I should be proud.
But, man, time is flying. I'm trying to keep track of how much time I spend every day, every week on
Training
Learning about my niche
Putting together my business plan
Web designing
Writing content
...
And, yes, I have to say: wow! Because honestly, I didn't expect I would have to devote that much time and effort in this endeavor. 12 to 15 hours a week is not enough for me. I need to be advancing faster.
I experienced some unexpected adversities at my daytime job - a co-worker quit, I am now covering his territory, on top of mine, on top of the managing key accounts, on top of managing brands ... work keeps on piling up. Fun.
On one hand, I feel like the whole Affiliate Marketing thing is getting clearer and makes sense. But wow! What a change in my mind. I wished for a career change, learning how to free myself from the corporate world - like many people in this community. What a challenge! "Wish what you pray for" as they say. I am enjoying the journey as much as I can, and I am truly enjoying learning new skills all the time.
I see now that my success depends above and foremost on my ability and will to change the way I operate at two levels: Technically and Personally
these are the technical areas I need to improve:
- Time management
- Taking action promptly
- Better using tools to stay connected and save time
- asking for help, feedback, comments and getting better at giving myself
... and these are the personal aspects of my life that need to change to succeed
- Stricter discipline, keeping my eyes on the goals and trackers
- Keeping a positive, open mind and spirit - staying motivated
- Overcoming the negative thoughts such as "this cannot work" or "I'm not skills enough"...
... no sales yet. I know when I understand how to drive traffic and captivate my audience, revenue will happen. I am not there yet. I am still "building the foundation".
In conclusion I wanted to recognize my progress, even if I am not where I wanted to be 6 months ago. I have learned a lot already.
I couldn't have done it without you, that's what's I also wanted to thank you, all the amazing people at WA for your help, support and inspiration. I absolutely believe I will make it. And I won't make it alone. I am so glad I found this community.
So, I say yes to WA, and WOW.
Cheers everyone and to our continued success!
Vincent

It sounds like we are both working on some of the same things. I know it will eventually come to fruition given enough effort, dedication, and patience, but I certainly have to be very mindful of these things that I need to improve as I move along, things that are very similar to what you are focusing on. Best wishes in your journey.

CONGRATS for the first six and here's hoping for great success for the next six! I agree I was hoping for quicker results, but then when I got learning I could see why it takes so long.
Blessings,
Linda

Hi Philippe,
Thanks for leaving a comment. Great to hear from you too. I want to hear where you're at with your online journey. Have you cracked the formula to get audience/ traffic?
I think even if we have great training here, it takes lots of trials and errors and reading between the line to figure it out. Intuition and mixing multiples sources of techniques. It's an art that we need to learn at our own pace.
Cheers,
Vincent
