First Time on The First Page of SERPS.
I'm just getting online to start working away on another post. Before I get started, I decide to check out search console to see if there have been any changes in the past couple of days.
I usually neglect to check the data because I'm always working, either at my day job or here at home on my website. Most of the time, its nothing exiting and the majority of my posts don't rank very well.
Not this time.
You can imagine my surprise when I click from the performance tab over to the pages results, and there it is. One of my recent posts has made it to position one.
The first thought that crosses my mind is that this cant be accurate. How is this one article ranking above all of my other content? Time to do a quick search to double check.
Sure enough, page one, 9th post on the page. Cutting it close, for sure, but its still page one.
There are many things that I find funny about this post being the first one to achieve what I would consider a successful ranked position.
First off, I wrote this post with the sole purpose of providing helpful information on how to use affiliate marketing without a website.
Imagine that, the first real success that I see with my content, is of me telling people how they don't necessarily need my number one recommended platform for building and growing an affiliate website. What are the odds?
Seems rather ironic and I can't help but laugh.
Next up, this post has only one comment at the moment. Just One.
I find this funny but also encouraging. This means that our posts can rank high in the serps with very little user engagement. I'm also willing to bet, that if I start diverting some more comments to this content, my rankings may improve further.
Time to start paying it forward with those comments.
Last but not least, this post is only ranked on the first page for a very specific keyword phrase.
You know, one of those, 7 ways to blah blah blah.
LMAO!!!
Maybe the ranked keywords will improve with the extra comments as well. Only one way I know of the find out.
I'm still feeling encouraged though.
Even if my only high ranked post is telling people how to avoid using a website for their affiliate marketing ventures, there is only one comment, and they will only find the post if they are looking for that magic number.
I'm still feeling inspired to keep pushing forward, and striving to make these little wins turn into big victories over time.
This just goes to show how your content can still rank well, even if it seems the most unlikely candidate for such an accolade.
Now its time to dissect this post and see what I did right and what I could do better.
Does anyone have suggestions of where to start or recommendations on how to drive it up to the top of the serps?
Am I right in thinking that comments will help move it up the ranks a little more?

Getting onto page 1 is not such a little win - and if you can do it once, you can certainly do it again ... and again!
I'm sure that by getting more comments your ranking will improve.
I'm unable to tell you with any certainty why this post is ranked and your others are not - unless the target keyword in this case is much less competitive.

I will keep pushing forward to get this one and many others up the ladder over time. Just have to keep working away.
The competition seemed average when I did the keyword research but perhaps its ranked so well because of the specific #phrase that I mentioned.
I plan to dig in and see what I can figure out. Perhaps that will be another post here at WA in the near future.
