Spending time in the community

I think it is very important to spend time answering others questions and reviewing others' websites. As I declared in a previous post, I don't always manage to have as much time as I would like to spend on my website but I do always try to make time to be in the community.

The community is the back bone of what makes WA work. Without it, our answers could not be answered so quickly and the price tag would be far higher as Kyle and Carson would have to employ people to help them!

Responding to new members gives them a sense of welcome, trust and may make them less shy to share in the future. Another possible person to answer a question for you!

Visiting websites not only helps other members it can help you too. If you are not feeling very inspired, seeing others work can help inspire you. You can see how people present their work. The conversational tone they use, how they use keywords, where do they place ads etc. They are happy that you visited and hopefully, commented. Shared in social media perhaps, but you gain so much too.

I sometimes find it difficult to comment productively on sites. I like to take 3 websites a day and read the latest post. It is good to widen your mind and read about things that you have never read about before. I am disabled so I am not likey to want a snowboard anytime soon but I can still learn something from reading the post and when it comes to comment I can FIB. Perhaps my son would like one. The next doors dog would look good on one and just think how many ratings you would get on youtube with that! Perhaps not put that as a comment but do think of yourself as a customer. If after reading the article you still not come up with a genuine question then make one up. You are helping the owner and in turn they are more likely to give you a considered comment.

Grab your favourite beverage and spend a little time each day on the community boards. You may gain from it more than you ever thought.
