The Strangest Thing Happened - How Could It Be?
On logging into my emails a short while ago, I was greeted by the first entry advising that one of my websites has been indexed by Google.
Having been a member of Wealthy Affiliate for about eight years but relatively inactive for most of this year, I was not expecting such good news.
How Could It BeI asked myself that question because although I own the domain name just indexed by Google, that's all there is! A Domain Name sitting patiently, waiting for action!
The Creation of that Domain NameA few years ago, when reading about profiting from selling Domain Names, I decided to give it a trial.
I didn't achieve much with that idea as I wasn't into purchasing Domains in multiple numbers.
I also learned that a Domain Name should be short, plus other requirements which escape me now.
I considered the few Domain Names I had purchased and decided each would be of little value. Therefore, I would not renew them. As it happens, I think each Domain has been renewed at least once! For what reason, I don't recall.
I remember thinking about this particular domain that Google has just indexed and wondering if the name of the Domain made sense.
Is this indexing a signal this Domain has possibilities of success?
Or, has Google been overly generous with its indexing? I don't mind if they have!!
Time will tell. And perhaps this strange happening will jump-start me into action!!
Thanks for reading.
Best wishes.
Valerie

Yes, it is interesting, Jeff. It has to be a glitch in the system.
In my reply to Phil, I have posted a copy of the email I received from WA, plus a copy of the response from Google which you may be interested in viewing.
I, shortly after, had one of my unused domains indexed too, Valerie! Very strange, indeed!
Jeff
Oh, wow Jeff. What is happening???
I submitted a ticket to SiteSupport last evening but time ran out. About 10.30pm they sent a message apologising for delay in responding. But I needed to logoff for the night. I have just got back to SiteSupport. They responded promptly advising the ticket is still being processed! I will keep you informed.
Valerie 😊
Thanks, Valerie! I still have to further check that domain to make sure there is not a website started on it. I'll let you know!
Jeff
Did you start that website with the new domain? If you used your domain and made a website with it then yes it will get indexed. But a domain name on its own isnt going to be indexed. Could you clarify which is it?
No, I didn't start a website with that domain at any time. I'll post two images for your information, Brenda.
I agree with you Brenda about bringing it up with Kyle and Carson, although I'm not sure how to do that. Maybe watching for Kyle on Live Chat would be the best way!
I'm not concerned personally about the error of the email to me advising success. But, it does concern me that new members with little experience who get so excited about indexing - it could be a set-back for them.
Valerie,
Thanks for bringing this up. This is the same thing that happened with my MMO site. I had nothing on it either when it was indexed.
Rachele
Thanks for your response, Rachele.
It's strange how this happens. It can be annoying although not a problem to the experienced, but quite the opposite when it happens to new members who are focused on getting the content indexed.
Valerie
Hi Valerie…that is a strange thing indeed. Like Phil has suggested, I’d be curious to see what happens when you enter that url. Very interesting development. Hope you are keeping well!
Susan
Thanks for your response, Susan. It is strange and I expect it is glitch. It couldn't be anything else! In response to Phil and Brenda I have posted images that confirm that domain is inactive!
I'm keeping well thanks Susan, but running out of energy at the moment. Hence my advice of information posted in response to Phil and Brenda rather than doing it again!
It must be a glitch as you say, especially seeing the images. Hopefully it will correct itself. Good to hear, Valerie…do take care. 😊
That doesn't make sense, Val. Google indexes websites not domain names. Are you sure you didn't build an empty site on it? Have you tried entering the domain name into Google and seeing what comes up?
No I haven't reported it, Phil.
Brenda thought I should report it to Kyle or Carson.
I doubt it is a matter for Site Support!
I'll give it a miss for tonight and do something about it tomorrow morning.
Good luck with it. I would have thought as a technical issue, Site Support would be the right place.
I'm interested in this, so if you could let me know the outcome, it would be appreciated, Val.
Phil, I'm still waiting for a further response from Site Support. They advised about an hour ago that they have forwarded my ticket to their senior admin.
I will let you know their response as soon as I receive it!

It sounds interesting but is it possible? As far as I know only websites which have met certain criteria are indexed by Google.
No, it isn't possible, Dadaz. But, it is a fact that I received that email.
I've posted a copy of the email I received advising of my so-called success - plus a copy of the response I received when entering the domain into Google. No doubt it was a glitch which doesn't worry me, but it could be a concern if it were to happen to those new to online marketing.
Thanks for commenting, Dadaz.
