Where there is a will...

Between sick kids, being sick, rain, photo-scanning, bills, etc....etc....etc....

I am figuring something out. The artwork I have done for my project was 11 by 14". It is a book to print as well as upload for PDA's via Kindle, etc. Well, finding out how to lay it out as an illustrated book that can be read in different format's has been an adventure. Pretty cutting edge technology via ePub...a headache quite frankly.

Wrapping up the last two stories to get butchered by my editor, that is another headache.

Coming up with the last Lewis Carroll-esque poems...going from creative to techno...equals-you guessed it-headache!

And here I sit after a three day struggle of getting my 8.5 by 11 inch scanner to scan the artwork. After very careful juggling, and flipping, and rotating...success. Because, I'll be darned if I am going out to by another scanner or pay $75 dollars per scan to get it digitized.

Oh, and finding the time to get on Wordpress to get my website together and wrap my head around the social networking...

What is my point here? What am I trying to get at amongst dirty clothes, sick kids, taking care of animals (soon I have to drop everything and take care of horses), bills, and life?

Perseverance. I became part of the WA community two years ago. Haven't had much of a presence, but in the background have been busy learning, absorbing, and developing the direction I wanted to go...following my passions, living a balanced life, and raising my kids at home. I took a hiatus and went back to the workforce to save up, work on my book, and get out of debt. Have been through some major personal shifts that left me wondering where life was heading. Another kid.

My point...is the pursuit lonely? Yes. Does it force you to go through a tempering process to find the mettle (wordplay on metal) your inner core is made of? Yes. Is it overwhelming? Yes. So you have to sacrifice? Yes.

The secret? Do a little everyday. "Never say die, never give up,never lose hope, and..." or whatever the rest of that quote from Galaxy Quest is. Just don't get overwhelmed, network here on WA, and keep plugging.

Patience, produces perseverance, produces confidence.

I am just finishing my first phase...getting the darn thing done. Second phase...starting to network and MAPS (Marketing, Advertising, Promoting, and Selling).

Do I know what it is going to do? Nope. But, it will do something. Thanks to WA. Thanks to knowing my niche market. Thanks to learning to work through the loneliness, lack of support, etc.

I was following a blog about a week ago. One member was saying how lonely the learning curve can be...another kept encouraging him to look at every situation as an opportunity. He was right.

I spent a large part of my time alone...being driven nuts by animals and kids. I sacrifice sleep and socializing to do this. But, the goals are worth it. I am quiet about what I am doing. People don't understand. I gave up a really good job to do this. That job was one of my steps. People don't understand. They are starting to as I continue to persevere and they see the end result. My dreams, through shear stubbornness are becoming reality. Keep at it.

Now, I gotta go out in the rain, with sick kids, and clean horse stalls...Yay me!

Seeya.

Quiet but persistent tenacity ... it's like water. If there's any possibility of yield or give at all, the quiet tenacity of water will find it and make a way through. Actually rain, sick kids and cleaning horse stalls sounds quite refreshing ... lol ... there's something so physical and present about rain and mucking out :)

Thanks...hubby came home sick. So, it will make its circuit. We are in for a cold one this year.

Sorry to hear that you're kids are sick and you gotta go out in the rain to clean horse stalls...I know how that is.
On the other hand, it's great to hear your dreams are becoming a reality for you!
Stubbornness does pay off!

Best wishes to you and you're family!
