Why bother goal setting?

It always amazes me that people expect to make large incomes but have no plans to achieve this.

Goal setting is like setting up a target but it needs a plan.

Imagine this, you want to lose 30lbs. You have a goal, but, how do you achieve it?

Of course you know what it requires, cutting back on eating and adding exercise. Do you know how long it's going to take? Probably one year. Yep, that's quite an ask, but you still need a plan. One whole year of discipline and because of this you don't start or not for long anyway.

It's the same with creating a worthwhile income. It takes time and commitment. There are sacrifices to be made. There is no magic bullet, no magic course, winning a lottery is pretty much impossible. What do you do?

Buy another course, go to more seminars, google about all the top earners, hope that the money fairy is going to bless you this year. What this all means is you're hoping that you won't have to do much to be successful. I know I've been there and done that.

So, if you don't have money, the only thing you can trade is time. That means having a plan as to what you will do every day towards your goal. If you consistently apply everything you learn, then you have a very good chance you'll make it to your goal.

If this was a job, you wouldn't have a problem, you'd turn up every day and get on with it. Unfortunately it's not a job. Nobody there to crack a whip. In fact you're on your own. No matter how much the community inspires you, you still have to do the work. After all, isn't that what it's about? This is work which you may not get paid for, for a very long time.

The beauty is that when you do start to make money, you'll have earned it.
