Keywords, what's the deal?
Some people get so caught up in SEO and keywords that they forget that's not the only criteria on which you rank.
We know content is king. What does that mean? That you have to be an incredible writer and fluent in the english language?
Not really. What you need to be good at is solving problems or very good at being entertaining. The problem as I see it is that people get so wrapped up in how their theme looks, whether they have social media plugins, opt-ins, ads and so on.
The truth is, you need to address a need. That is what keyword searches are for, to figure out, in your niche, what people are looking for and seeing if anyone has really tackled their problem.
Then tackle the problem. Don't go off on tangents, stick to your long-tail keyword. Often refer to it while writing your post. It needs to be used in your post but in a meaninful way.
If you were a blues fan and went out to watch a blues band then you would expect to hear them play the blues. If they start playing pop or rock you'd soon be out of there.
It's the same with posts, if someone comes to your post because you have a solution then make sure you stick with your solution. The first paragraph should be your solution and then the rest of your post should do into detail.
People don't arrive at your post because of your ads, opt-ins, freebies, they come because you have an answer to their need.
Anyway I just thought I'd put this out there for anyone who is having a hard time with keyword research.
Have a fabulous day.

Very well put. Thanks for reminding us to answer the reader's question and solve their problems.
Good points Michael,
As an example.......
If somebody has lower back pain and types into their search bar "how do I cure my lower back pain", they want to find out how to cure their lower back pain and somebody who writes a post that answers their query will get good rankings as a result of that.
That type of example has a lot of competition though and other factors would be needed to rank that answer highly enough for it to be even seen let alone read.
Finding long tail keywords that answer someone's specific query without a large amount of competion is what most marketers will be looking for and there's an art to that!
