My thoughts on Google Sniper 2.0

Hey there everyone, as some may or may not have read from my intro on my profile page, prior to joining Wealthy Affiliate I joined two other programs which were Google Sniper 2.0 and Bring The Fresh 2013. So I have received some questions on my personal experience on these two affiliate marketing programs, why did I quit them, price, support etc etc. J

Don’t get me wrong I love receiving messages from you guys, but to help everyone else I thought my first blog post here on WA would be tell about my reviews on those two programs. So let’s get to it! J

First and foremost, why did I start out in affiliate marketing? Well I guess I reached a point in my life (I’m 32) that I figured my pay from my desk job wasn’t enough for me to lead the lifestyle that I would like to lead. Again, I don’t hate my job or anything, I have a great boss who gives me a lot of flexibility and emphasis work life balance, the other people who work in the office aren’t perfect, but I get along well with most of them. I get a great pay for the work that I do and I am truly grateful for that. But I kept of thinking to myself:

Wouldn’t it be nice to earn much much more every month?

Wouldn’t it be nice to be financially debt free?

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to travel every month to wherever I please?

Wouldn’t it be nice to travel first class and stay in 5 star hotels every time I travel?

Wouldn’t it be nice to buy any car I want?

Wouldn’t it be nice to if owned several properties?

Well the list goes on, no harm in dreaming right? J hehehe…..

Google Sniper 2.0

So anyway I was researching on ways to earn more money online and somehow or another came across affiliate marketing. Then that further lead to forums, blogs and again I found Google Sniper 2.0 from the sources that I got, it had some ok reviews. I went to the website, was sold in the introduction video.

After paying the membership fee on clickbank, there was an up sell though to some advanced section for the program, but I didn’t take it, but please remember to read the fine print because the advanced membership fee which was a recurring amount is auto included, you need to uncheck it!. The members area was pretty well laid out, simple and it was easy enough to navigate on where to get started and so forth. The good thing was I found that all the training materials, including the videos were available to download to your desktop which you can view it later at your leisure, and literally keep it forever. I thought this was great of the owners of this program to allow the members to do that, it gave me a sense of trust. J

When you are going through the training manual and videos, the owner George Brown goes through each and every step in detail leaving nothing out, literally it was step by step, where to click and where, what to type in etc. For a beginner, I needed that, someone to hold my hand, tell me exactly what to do and I wouldn’t have to figure out anything else.

However, much of the materials were a bit out of date. For example, he was using an old version of the google keyword tool. Some of the social bookmarking websites were out of date as well, some aren’t even online anymore. Despite that, the program does really take you step by step in detail on how to setup your website, how to structure it, what content you need to put in and where, and most importantly how to get your site ranked.

I am happy to say that my very first website that I created using the training from Google Sniper 2.0 ranked #1 on Google. It was a good feeling, however sadly nothing has been converting so far, getting the traffic but no one’s buying. So besides the outdated elements in the training, I believe the core content of the program are still very much important which is how to choose a nice, how to find keywords, how to setup your website for SEO and how to get ranked. These are very basic concepts which for beginners you would need to grasp before anything.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t much of support system in the program. So basically you just go in learn from the training and you’re pretty much on your own after that.

On another note, I have been told that on May 22nd of this year, 2013, Google actually released an update to their algorithms that’s being referred to as Penguin 2.0, and what Penguin 2.0 does is it specifically targets those link-building strategies that Google Sniper and other programs have been teaching, and instead of not really being effective any more, it’s even worse than that. Your website, after you build it out and you follow the strategies in Google Sniper, will actually be punished, it’ll be penalized and you’ll be moved further and further and further down the search engines because you’re using these link-building techniques.

On a final note, the program does entice you with the fact that the program will teach you how to build a website in minutes and you start earning thousands of dollars in a week on autopilot. But as you Wealthy Affiliate members know, that is not ever the case, you build your site to be of value to your customers and not for the sole purpose of selling them a product from the outset. It takes time to build your website as Google values content added over time, and it takes time to build your customer base for your niche and most importantly it takes time to get your site ranked. However as a beginner I think the content is very valuable as it teaches you the core basics of affiliate marketing.

Hope this helps people out there, just my two cents worth on Google Sniper 2.0..going to have a post on Bring The Fresh 2013 next.

The fact that I'm here, shows that old information programs are still milking newbies. I'm so glad I found WA!!! :)

Great personal experience. Im glad I found wealthy affiliate!

Some say George Brown is a scam, I don't know. But I think he has already milked the cow dry and now trying to sell you the cow. But if you are new to this he has a lot of information, but maybe outdated.

Great information Zack. I feel there are more outdated systems the gurus are trying to sell to the public. I smiled reading your wouldn't it be nice list. Yup wouldn't it be nice to be filthy rich and never had to look in your wallet if you had enough moneyin it to buy the things you wanted.

Hey Ron, yes there's alot of scammers out there, feel sorry for those who are just beginning internet/affiliate marketing and are caught in them and losing money. But, we all need to learn at some point or another I suppose. As for my Wouldn't It Be Nice list....

I read in a self-help book somewhere that when you say, 'Wouldn't it be nice if such and such happened...." you achieve a different sort of expectation that elicits from you a more positive and hopeful response. As opposed to when you say " I want this thing to happen that hasn't happened yet..." you tend to put yourself in a more negative sense of expectation. ;) Its important I feel to always stay positive.
