Looking For A Better Spell Checker?

I am a freelance writer and getting my grammar and punctuation, as well as spelling, are critical to my work. Today, I want to review Grammarly, a spell checker plus.

When you use the spell checker that comes with your software, you are limited to a spell checker that is pretty lousy. Grammarly almost seems to "understand" what you are writing.

Grammarly checks for 250 types of spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors,

enhances vocabulary usage and even suggests citations.

Try to do all that Word!

Additionally, you can -

• Copy and paste any English text into Grammarly's editor or install Grammarly's Plugin for Microsoft Office Suite
• Grammarly flags potential issues in the text and provides context and suggested corrections, enabling user to make informed decisions about whether, and how, to correct an issue (it's not perfect. It will pick up on issues that are not issues. It might be regional dialect, etc)
• Grammarly spots erroneous use of lose/loose, affect/effect, lie/lay, there/their/they’re and many more commonly confused words
• Grammarly has a writing feature where you can write essays and other content to save for later use
• As you write, a little swirling "G" can be found at the bottom of your document. When you are finished, Grammarly tells you the number of mistakes that you made, how critical they are, and tells you how to correct them

No, I am not affiliated with Grammarly, I just love this product and I think you will too. Just wanted to let y'all (yes, this is a word in Texas) know that there is an option out there that blows Word and Chrome's spellcheckers out of the water. And you can use this truly for free. They don't give you a snippet or 30 days free, etc. You can get a truly free account and upgrade at a reasonable rate if you want premium.

Try Grammarly out and see if you like it. I do and can't write without it! (Freelancers make mistakes too!)
