In pursuit of my purpose to helping others, I've learned that I need to help myself first in order to have the capacity to help others.

KNOW YOUR ONIONS

I don't have to save the world because I can't. I can only do my part and leave the rest for God. So, if you've been thinking about how you have to please everyone, then you don't seem to get a full understanding of living a purposeful life yet. I will say to you change your mindset in that direction, otherwise you might drown not doing so.

Need more do I say that none of you reading this is exempt from drowning, if you don't take this to perspective.

SAY NO TO SENTIMENTS

Leave religious sentiments out, about your "higher calling" and how God might not be happy if you don't take your calling serious. Let me tell you, God knows you even before we were formed, He knows your capacity and will not demand beyond that which He knows will be a burden to you.

Sometimes some of us confuse a purpose with a spiritual calling! In a nutshell it's two different things though interlinked in a way.

PURPOSEFUL LIFE

A purpose is literally what you like doing and what brings fulfillment to your person. While a spiritual calling is what you've been called and ordained by God to engage in, with the sole purpose of guiding or influencing others fulfill their destinies.

I hope you get that right? Okay let's not deviate, will leave that for another write-up.

In pursuing your purpose passionately, engage in the things that will make you happy, like:

1. Travel the world

2. Make new friends, and build meaningful relationships.

3. Try new delicacies

4. Buy a new car

5. Go for some spa pampering

6. Get away for the weekend

7. Exercise regularly

8. Eat healthy (Indulge once in a while)

For me, "Happiness" is the new "Success". If you don't derive joy from what you do or are not doing, it means you're just surviving.

Move from a survival mode to living a life of purpose. The decision to live life to the fullest lies in you. You might think you have all the time, alas, be reminded that our visas to mother earth will expire.

Everyday lived, is an opportunity to give gratitude to God for what we've been blessed with and not complaining about what we've not achieved.

Life itself is in phases which is why what brought you joy five years ago is different from what brings you fulfillment today. Just like me, I find interesting, writing out my thoughts, to help others understand themselves, just for example, the first paragraph of this post was what I wanted to post on Facebook but ended up being this write-up. It comes so natural for me, as I write down my inner thoughts word for word.
