40 000 drop in WA rank!
Hi everyone.
I just woke up, logged into WA, and noticed that I have dropped in WA rank from 3040 to 43950!
I have been a member for less than a month. I am happy with WA platform so far. WA Ranking position is not that important to me at the moment, but still, I would like to know the possible reasons that could caused this. That's why I wrote this post.
Anyone else had a significant drop in rankings today? Or, did it happen to you earlier? Is it possible that I maybe did something considered a spam like following to many new members, or something similar? Or WA did some kind of algorithm change?
If you know anything about this, any kind of insight would be appreciated.

It seems a lot of people have suffered with big losses overnight - me included, though nowhere near as bigger drop as you! 40k is a lot!!! I only dropped 7 places, but I know many others here at WA have been talking about big drops too - many several thousand like you. Equally, some have rocketed up the ranking, so it seems that an algorithm change may have been made overnight. I can't be sure, but that is what most are suggesting. But like you say, site rank is the most important thing, and not WA rank which is just a bit of fun really, so I wouldn't be too concerned.

Yeah, I am not really 'concerned' or worried. But as you said '40k is a lot!' So I am really curious to find out what happened :D
Hi Tom there are updates or resets done periodically, so many members experience a drop or they go up. It's normal :)

Don't worry to much about your rank. This happens every few months or so. Carson and Kyle are familiar with this drop.
Yeah, I figured as much.
I also read Kyle's post about it, and it is quite obvious now, why I suffered such a huge drop. As Kyle said in his post, time is now taken into the account as a strong factor. I haven't been a member for a month yet. So, it is logic now, why did I drop so low.
