In the beginning...
Climbing the mountain again!
I'm certainly no stranger to doing new stuff. As I sit at my desk and reflect on the past and try to project myself into the future I see that on average I've changed not only my job but my profession about every 2 years. This has been a lot of fun and I've had some great opportunities, seen and done some awesome things with some awesome people. However all this chopping and changing, bouncing around the employment market takes its toll, there’s always the cost of retraining whether it’s a financial cost or just the draining effect of climbing the learning curve of a new skill while you’re still employed at the place you’re trying to leave.
As I write this I'm looking at a letter on my desk from a training company with whom I enrolled 14 months ago. I paid for 3 courses to run consecutively so that in 2 years time I could be a qualified plumber, electrician and solar installer. The letter on my desk informs me that the company has gone bust and I won’t see my money again or get my qualifications. GRRR!
Yet another company’s boss has let me down with their daft financial decisions. Time to unwind, go for a walk in the nearby moorland.
So I find myself with some time set aside for study, which I can no longer use for its intended purpose. Is there an outside possibility that I can use this time to generate a web based income? It seems that this is more than just a random thing that happens to a few lucky/well placed individuals on the net. If research serves me well this is no different to other avenues of employment where work = pay. I’ll make a note to come back to this post periodically; it may serve as the springboard reminding me why I'm working at something that hasn't paid me… Yet.

Affiliate marketing isn't going anywhere soon, so if you crack this, you'll be self sufficient and won't need to rely on a "boss" to send your paychecks.
