Quieting the negative voices

I had those negative voices too. It was worse because some of them were family and in my teen development years. I have to tell mine to "BE QUIET" too.
Yes I too had lots of negative messages from family. It got so bad I ran away and ended up in the system, now I teach at the youth home and try to give back to those who are going through the same thing!
Arrrg. I hate when people is so negative. You are not alone Kim. In my case my best friend just said "You can do that". Now they want to follow my track.
Wishing you every sucess. :)
Me to that is why I always try to be positive. Sounds like you have a wonderful best friend who is an encouragement! Wishing you great success as well!
Negative thoughts have a way of kicking us in the pants, but I find it helpful to cancel those out with positive ones. Eventually, the negative ones will not intrude as much or you just don't hear them as loudly.

I Love this story Kim,
These negative messages are sometimes referred to as ANTS=Automatic-Negative Thoughts. They sneak up on you, but when you begin to focus on your breathing and your heart space, you can notice that they are not you, but you are observing a voice that is not supporting your well being. They are collective negative messages we’ve picked up in our lifetime through people around us and even media programming.
Sorry for the rant, but I totally understand. Find inspiration in people or on this site to remind you that you are not alone.

Thanks so much I have had to quiet quite a few of them but I noticed that it gets easier and easier the more I practice. I went to a great professional development training yesterday for my students. Positive Behavior Intervention and Support. So many people only focus on what students do negatively and when you have some students who always seem as if they display negative behaviors many teachers find that is all they focus on. The training taught us that when we focus on positive behavior with these students they are more likely to respect you and their grades go up. A lot of people didn't agree with the trainer but I know from experience this is true because I was one of those "bad" students in the 80's. I remember one teacher in particular who always told me I could instead of I couldn't! I will NEVER forget here. Take Care!

Just remember, you are never alone and the main thing is to recognize it, then you can take action. Love Yourself╰დ╮❤╭დ╯✰*
