Have you ever thought about the many physical, emotional, and mental benefits a simple smile has on your life? A smile is a simple act that takes no hard lifting, no money, and really no work at all that can give so many benefits to you and the person receiving the smile. Why is it that we choose to not put a smile on our faces and reap the rewards? I believe it is because we are too busy worrying over the future or dwelling in the past and funny but those two things are complete opposite the benefits of a smile does for you. Shake things up and live in the present moment and do it with a smile on your face.

Even a fake smile has the same benefits as a real one, but usually if you put a fake smile on you will find before long you are happier and smiling for real. A smile releases the feel good endorphins and will boost your mood not long after you smile. Other benefits are less stress, less anxiety, less depression, better immune functions, lower blood pressure which leads to less chance of heart disease. Better relationships, more confidence, just all around better mood. This seems like a no brainier to me just put that smile on your face and see the difference in life. When I first started to change my mindset for better I had smile days on my weekly schedule. Smile days are where I wake up put my smile on my face and keep it till bed and you would not believe the different reactions I would get. Some people probably thought I was crazy, others smiled back, and some just looked at me like I was mental. The real difference was how I was able to deal with problems easier I was not stressed and I actually met new people all because I smiled.

I challenge you to a smile day set it in your calendar and make an honest effort at it. At the end of the day go back over your day and see if your smile made your day or another persons' day. It is so simple and takes nothing from you but sure adds a lot of good to your life.
