I had a lovely surprise for me today and my mind is blown. Before I get into that, a little backstory....

*cue cheesy flashback effects*

I haven't been working on WA for a couple of months. I had several losses in my family over a short period and then I had my kids schooling and Christmas to prepare for so I just had nothing left for writing. I was pretty down on myself because I was just starting to find my stride and I got knocked over. Like a toddler, it's rarely good to leave a new site unattended. I did do one thing, though. I bought my yearly membership to WA. It's nearly impossible to say no to a few hundred dollars saved at the Black Friday sale and no monthly payments. I also figured that if I paid for my yearly, I'd HAVE to come back so that I could get my site going and maybe next year the site could pay for itself. After spending the post-Christmas part of winter school break resting as much as I could, I finally started to find the drive and energy to work on things again. I started slow. I took up an offer for a couple free months on an educational website and took a couple of short classes to get the juices flowing again. Then I was finally ready to come back.

*cue cheesy forward flash*

I started a few posts...I came up with some titles to work with and created new text documents for each with the plan of writing bits as the inspiration hit. Then I came on the site and checked messages (sorry to those I didn't reply to sooner!) and found some new followers...sorry I haven't said "hi" yet either!

Then today I got the most awesome surprise and like I said at the top of this post, my mind is blown. I started looking up keywords for my site on Jaaxy. So far I have found 6 first page rankings!! 5 are Google!! Of those 5, one is a #2 spot and two are at #1...one with 4 top spots (#1, 2, 3, 4) with Wikipedia coming in at 5 (take THAT Wikipedia ;) ...and the best, all 7 of my posts have the top 7 ranks!! WOOHOO!!! Jaaxy, if you were a person I'd be tempted to hug you right now.

This has definitely been a HUGE boost for me. Now I have something to fight for. All the work is starting to pay off and I haven't lost everything by having to take that break.

I hope everyone here at WA has just as good a day.
