Greetings from Gdynia.

As you'll know if you read my last blog post, I arranged a month away in Poland in an attempt of trying to combat my lazy, easily-distracted tendencies and Get Some Work Done.
Well I've been here for about 10 days now and thought it was time to check in.
First of all, Gdansk is very lovely. It's a port town with a lot of history and, if you're interested at all in World War 2 or maritime goings on, I definitely recommend.
Food, beer and lodgings are cheap as proverbial chips.

I had a few days wandering around as my mini-break and then hot-footed my way a few miles further North to Gdynia. I figured it would be smaller, with less going on and there would be less to distract me...
In actual fact, Gdynia is more of a resort-town than Gdansk and is considerably better set up for tourists with a beach, promenade and familiy-friendly Stuff To Do all within a 5 minute walk. I'm coming back here with my sister and my 4-year-old nephew in the summer!
Luckily for me, it's still off-season so it's not that busy and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything more than a little Vitamin D. I'm certainly not moping out of my fourth-floor balcony at carnivals and karaoke nights, at any rate.
Do the Poles enjoy a good karaoke night? They seem like they might be a bit dour for out-of-tune, alcohol-fuelled singing. I suppose I'll find out when I return in a few months...
Anyway, the work is going ok. I've plastered the walls with post-its invested in a new notebook. And monk-mode seems to suit me, this many miles from home, at least. I still find that I have to be strict with myself or I'll fritter away hours doing needless "side tasks". But I'm getting there!
And, on the bright side, at least if I end up stuck here because of Italian-style quarantining in a few weeks, I'll be well practised...
