Are You A Lucid Dreamer?

I've been practicing lucid dreaming on and off for about 5 years now and it's definitely had a profound impact on my life. It's changed my perspective and given me the unique opportunity to:

  • push my physical limits
  • speak to my subconscious
  • overcome fears by doing what I fear
  • learning and practicing new skills

The exciting thing about lucid dreaming is that you are the only limit to your potential in the dream world. Literally anything is possible! So why waste 1/3 of your life sleeping without awareness when you could be fully aware and alive? I only wish I had started lucid dreaming sooner...

If you're a lucid dreamer, how has lucid dreaming enhanced your life? Please let me know in the comments below.

Also, Feel free to check out my post, "How To Master Skills While You Sleep", which explores practicing skills during a lucid dream and how the experience is similar to waking life since the actions in a lucid dream transfer to actual muscle memory: http://wellefficient.com/sleep/how-to-master-skill...

I don't do this on purpose but definitely enjoy one when it happens spontaneously. It happens seldom. Falling from highs normally triggers the awareness or sexual content. It doesn't last long and I always wake up.

And the above is something I enjoy. Most of the time I see vivid dreams that are somewhat lucid but I don't have as much control. Last night before the dawn for an hour or two I was writing content for my website in my sleep being sort of conscious about that at the same time. I don't feel rested today...

thanks for the comment! I highly recommend reading Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming which I reference in my post on my site. You can learn to become fully aware and have complete control over your dreams. Lucid dreams are a great time to write content for your website as your true creative potential is unlocked. The fact that you didn't feel rested after this semi-lucid dream is not related unless you were actually awake and not really dreaming. One can feel somewhat mentally/emotionally exhausted after terrifying or intense dreams but lucid dreams can actually help as you're able to dispel the anxiety and face down your fears...or just change your dream environment at will.

You are right! Even if I feel exhausted I still feel great if I was able to relax and experience pleasure. I read the book you recommend, paid $25 dollars for a package in a specialized store in San Francisco in 2004.
