Lesson 1: Introduction
Unless you want to be chasing money on a regular basis, working overtime to nail down every dollar, you need to invest your time and effort into strategies that will deliver for you by increasing your profit potential with less work.
List building is a concept that many online entrepreneurs fail to do, putting it off until a day in the future when they may feel “big enough” to take that next step. But that time is now, not after thousands of people have come across your content and clicked away never to encounter your communications again.
You want to unlock the power of business growth by leveraging your ability to reach out to people on a regular basis. List building is a tool that can help you build a bigger brand, rake in higher profits and solidify your position as a niche authority figure.
In these lessons, you’re going to discover how you can attract new subscribers to your list and use a number of methods to gain exposure for your lead magnet landing page. Some are quick and easy and others will require more effort, but they all have the ability to help you increase your profits.
One essential that you’ll require is an autoresponder. There are several to choose from, including AWeber, GetResponse, MailChimp, ActiveCampaign and others. They are worth researching to find the one that will fit you best. Most have a free option for a limited number of subscribers and also allow you to export and import your contact list, making it relatively easy to swap from one to another.
The three main autoresponder features that you’ll be using are:
- A template to create your opt-in form
- A database to store your contact’s details and
- The ability to automatically send a series of emails to your contacts.
You should, of course backup your contact database frequently so that you aren’t totally dependent on your autoresponder. Keep your backup somewhere readily accessible, whether that’s in the cloud or on you own local hard disk or memory stick.
Ive known for some time how important list biding is. But I was never sure how how to find the metrics that would provide all the info I needed. I was familiar with lead magnet pages etc.but not sure how to put it all together.
Thank you, Phil for posting y our'Listing Course' for us. It has filled a large gap in my affiliate marketing training.
Steve
I know I personally don't wish folks who get emails from me to have my actual address.
There is a cheap workaround for this, which many who incorporate often use. It's called a registered agent. They will be your designated address. You can usually find one for between 50.00-100.00 per year, which is darn cheap for the peace of mind it will provide in not worrying someone perhaps not all there shows up at dinner time or worse, in the middle of the night.
A great tutorial.
Thanks Phil.
