So ...

As you have seen, the plugin works out of the box supporting posts and pages by default.

But, there is more ... You can also customize the plugin to enable support for custom post types, to apply user role restrictions, to choose what to clone when creating a duplicate, etc.

Go to Settings => Duplicate Post to access the configuration page.

You'll see three tabs. The first "What to copy" tab will allow you to choose what to copy when creating a duplicate. The default options should work for most websites, but of course, you can make your own choices according to your needs:

The second tab is the "Permissions" tab.

By default, only administrators and editors can create duplicate posts or pages. If you want, you can include authors and contributors.

Also, you can enable the duplicate post feature for posts, pages and custom post types (if you are using any custom post types on your website, those will appear here):

Finally, on the third "Display" tab you can choose where you want to display the clone post links:

And that's it my friends!

Sounds like a handy feature.

Question for you, Zed. How many plugins do you use on your site(s)?

Currently I have around 30 active plugins on my blog ... But of course, every site is different ... Different goals and different needs ...

Great post! Thanks

By using permission, do you mean we are allowed to post a duplicate post/page on are own sites?

No Max.

It means that you decide which user has the permission to use the cloning feature on your site.
