OK. Now I'm going to show you how to add a click-to-call link to your Wordpress menu!
So ...
Go to Appearance -> Menus and click on the custom links tab.
Now you can add the phone number in the URL field:
tel:+12223333333
Finally, enter the text you want to display and then click the "Add to Menu" button:
And here it is:
OK. You need to keep in mind tough, that adding click-to-call menu links is not recommended on desktop-versions of your site.
Why? Because, the targeted URL in fact is a phone number, which will launch a dedicated phone application on mobile devices, but on desktop versions the visitor will get an empty page with an error message:
In other words ... If it happens to have two different versions of your site (desktop and mobile) you can use a menu link on the mobile version, but isn't recommended on desktop versions.
But, having separate desktop and mobile versions is not a common practice anymore, so the best method is to use the image link method to display a click-to-call "button" in your posts, pages, sidebar widgets, etc.
Recently it took me a few weeks just to get my picture on my gravatar with my name on my site and I had a computer tech , word press people , finally utube and it worked finally on my smartphone !
So, when I read this great info I realize how ignorant I am with the workings of word press and how knowledgable you are !
It reminds me of the batman movie with micheal Keaton and Jack Nicholson as the joker and Batman fowls him again and Jack says where does he get all those toys , ha ha !
Hence the name smartmarketeer ha ha !
I don't know where or why I would need the phone number but iam sure it's a good option !
Thx again for your amazing info I will definitely be posting this on my personal spot on my smartphone ,happy Thanksgiving !!!
Looks good & useful option to program -- thanks kindly for sharing your considerable 'know-how' on everything !
